• Ohh I wan to change from Law enforcement to the sugar Nazi's. Get a bright white uniform, bright white patrol car that says "sugar Police" on it. A gun that shoots dextrose bullets. "step back from the bag of sugar or I shoot!" But man I got a five pound a day habit!..........

  For Christ's sake, we have no solved the problems in Kalifornia of bad roads, crime, over taxation, over regulation, budget imbalances, corrupt politicians, and we can now move on to taking out that evil know as sugar????? What the F*ck is the doctor smokin'? Hey doc when you solve all those other problems get back to me, cause in Kalifornia you have a statistical better chance of getting shot., robbed, run over, having a car crash, getting your ID ripped off, burglarized, raped, or just beaten for the hell of it by a gangster than you do of diabetes. Oh and I forgot getting hit by lighting.

• OK, I know I/m going to be in trouble here, but here goes. I don't think sugar should be taxed or restricted per se. I DO think that companies should be prevented from adding unnecessary simple sugars to EVERYTHING! A teaspoon of sugar in savory dishes actually improve the savory flavor. Same in reverse for sweet dishes. A little salt (maybe a quarter to half a teaspoon) enhaces the flavor. But we aren't talking in teaspoonfulls. We are talking about food that has been processed to the point of tastelessness, then has added sugar and salt in enormous quanities to try and make them palatable. It isn't only unhealthy, it is theft, because those ingredients are cheap for the manufacturers and expensive in the products sold to you. In the past, something fruit flabored had a little fruit. No more. Now is all created in a lab, using simple sugars and sugar alcohols. It results in increased direct cost to the consumer, plus increased cost in dealing with the side effects of consumption. Eat real food. Its cheaper in the long run, and tastes better. And if you coccasionally want to have a pice of cake, a couple of cookies or some ice cream, go for it! Just go for the real stuff, not the fake.

Its AKA the AGW disciples....we are going to control sugar....so now we moderate the availability of sugar.....how much taxation does it take to control your use (of sugar) .... as a designated driver....are these people for REAL.   • Prohibition was an abject failure, if sugar is restricted or heavily taxed and regulated, the Mexican drug cartels will switch to smuggling it. It's simple supply and demand.
