GOP lawmaker offers bill to prevent Cyprus-like run on savings accounts. The US gubbermint doesn’t need to expropriate savings thru the front door, they’re already doing it via the back door – Helicopter Ben’s QE’s and ZIRPs.

Watch the wolves as they are circling looking for an opening in order to ponce on what some have managed to put away for later.
Corporate Greed already stole our gold, which is the only real money. This allows them to be able to rob us indirectly via inflation and money printing rather then having to take our money directly.
Not Corporations. THe GOVERNMENT!
He still does'nt understand that difference. So he's still a dumbass.
TD,......................MO.
How to you get "our" gold? You only get gold if you work.
The welfare whore feels ENTITLED to the gold he did not work for......after all, it's only FAIR that he gets free stuff.
Corporate Greed STOLE the gold from us. I'm entitled to what they stole from me.
TheCorporations stole nothing. THE GOVERNMENT stole from the citizenry. And since you weren't even BORN at the time, and have done nothing productive since, you don't HAVE any gold. And I sure as hell am not sharing MY gold with YOU!
I used to have gold. Dug it out of the ground myself. Now my ex-wife has gold.
Goodbye dipshit, again eat feces and expire whimpering in the basement.
Like any of those thieves would vote not to plunder that massive revenue source. They're too busy trying to find an excuse to tax savings as it is.
Then there is this...
401(k) Foe Teresa Ghilarducci, the Most Dangerous Woman in America
By James Pethokoukis
October 29, 2008
Teresa Ghilarducci is the director of the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis at the New School for Social Research and the author of the book When I'm Sixty-Four: The Plot Against Pensions and the Plan to Save Them. She also wants to see 401(k) and Individual Retirement Accounts replaced by "government retirement accounts." (Yes, I am having a bit of fun with the "most dangerous" tag.) In an interview with my guy, Kirby Wilbur of KVI 570 AM in Seattle, Ghilarducci says one of her goals is—you guessed it—to "spread the wealth." Go about 12 minutes into the interview to hear it for yourself, gang.

...there is an audio clip at the site linked. Just as bad as what happened in Cyprus. There are people who want to socialize the 401k system & hand it out like social security, & just like social security, when you die, your family does'nt get any of what would have been left.
Given John Roberts and his expansive view of the taxing power of Congress, we may need a Constitutional amendment, rather than just a bill, to protect savings from the rapacity of the Progressives.
I agree but the amendment proposal would have to originate with the states. Congress would not likely ever want to choke off that revenue potential. Sad that it is coming to that. The need for constitutional protection from outright theft by those we elect.
