Government set to shut down leaving 800,000 federal workers with their pay suspended as Senate adjourns after Democrats dig in and refuse to approve bill with billions assigned to Trump’s border wall. So it’s not really a complete shutdown. We wonder how many of the 800,000 voted Democrat?

I applaud POTUS and FLOTUS for staying in DC for Christmas. I realize it is largely a symbolic move, but nonetheless, I think it was a wise decision. It's unfortunate that 800,000 people may miss some paychecks, but the pain has to start somewhere. Some of these folks have likely been overpaid for a long time. I have a friend who told me recently that his daughter works in DC in the office of OMB. Said she's a millionaire! I highly doubt what she does at OMB is worth that kind of compensation! How many more are there like that, and I'd bet she's not even in the 800,000! The FED payroll is bloated beyond belief!
Trump needs to listen to Michael Reagan, the great Ronald Reagans son. His father made a deal with the devil, dumbocraps, over 30 years ago and we still have no wall or effective border security. Trump needs to stand strong on this or give up any chance of getting reelected in 2020.

Now we will have to listen to all the idiotic talking news heads shriek nonstop about how disastrous this is while actually the whole country could care less if the federal government is shut down. It's only the establishment who thinks the establishment is crucial. I'd like to see three quarters of them sent home permanently.

Then will come the lie that our troops are not getting paid. The only clowns that will be affected are unneeded dweebs like National Park employees. We have about a million men and women in uniform who can take care of the monuments in Washington so no problem there.
National Parks? The frigging feds have no right to call any land in the states "their" land. Each state can take care of our national treasures just fine, no stupid feral gooberment employee needed.
National forests? Same thing. Those forests belong to the people living in that state, we can take care of them much better than some dipshit from Washington can.

They tried that the last time and it fell right on its face. Droopy eyes needs to just say screw it. Go with the simple majority on funding and be done with this BS. That and along with a full years budget.
As for the 800000, if they aren’t needed now they aren’t needed tomorrow. Time to eliminate the positions.
Seems logical to me: if you're labelled "non-essential" you shouldn't have a job.
