Government set to shut down leaving 800,000 federal workers with their pay suspended as Senate adjourns after Democrats dig in and refuse to approve bill with billions assigned to Trump’s border wall

Government set to shut down leaving 800,000 federal workers with their pay suspended as Senate adjourns after Democrats dig in and refuse to approve bill with billions assigned to Trump’s border wall. So it’s not really a complete shutdown. We wonder how many of the 800,000 voted Democrat?

Heartbreak for Chuck Schumer: 50% of voters think the Democrats’ agenda is too extreme

Voters continue to view the Republican agenda in Congress as more mainstream than the agenda of the Democrats.

Last week Chuck Schumer trotted out the results of the Democrats’ latest focus group and ordered his party’s other senators to begin calling the Republican agenda “extreme” in every other sentence. Now we know why.

Rasmussen has the bad news for Schumer:

We would imagine that 50% of likely voters also consider Schumer to be a complete schmuck

Voters continue to view the Republican agenda in Congress as more mainstream than the agenda of the Democrats. But only one-in-four voters think the average member of either party shares the same ideology they do.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows that 45% say it would be more accurate to describe the agenda of Republicans in Congress as mainstream, up five points from last month. Thirty-eight percent (38%) say it’s more accurate to describe that agenda as extreme, while 17% more are undecided.

But half of voters (50%) say the Democratic agenda in Congress is extreme, while 37% see it as mainstream, also up five points from a month ago. Another 14% are not sure.

Surely Schumer finds these results disappointing in the extreme.

Investigation Nation: Schumer demands to know why there aren’t more Democrats in NYC

New York Senator Chuck Schumer is this close to having a tizzy fit. This close. The Democrat is irate that New York City’s population barely budged in the last ten years.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer is this close to having a tizzy fit. This close. The Democrat is irate that New York City’s population barely budged in the last ten years.

The New York Daily News has the details:

The perfect juxtaposition of publicity-seeking senator and unfortunately-positioned background sign

Sen. Chuck Schumer called on the federal government Saturday to probe the 2010 U.S. Census’ finding that New York City had grown by a mere trickle.

“These numbers cry out for investigation,” Schumer said, adding his voice to a chorus of critics, including Mayor Bloomberg, who have railed against the decennial count.

“I’m going to put a lot of pressure on them to do it,” he said. “For the census director to just shrug his shoulders … isn’t good enough.”

The U.S. Census reported that the city grew by 166,855 over a decade to 8.175 million despite a Census estimate last year that reported the city was home to 8.3million people.

Schumer called for the investigation in a letter to U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves.

Oh, yeah, this should be a fascinating investigation as Schumer delves into whether a Democrat President and a Democrat House of Representatives and a Democrat Senate and a Democrat Census Director all conspired to shortchange a Democrat stronghold.

We would propose that there’s a perfectly logical explanation as to why New York City fell short of earlier census estimates: If you had a Congressmen like Anthony Weiner and Charlie Rangel and a senator like Chuck Schumer, wouldn’t you consider moving somewhere else, too.

Andrea Mitchell admits that Harry Reid is a dead man walking

It doesn’t take a genius to look at the polls and figure out that Harry Reid will soon be the former senator from the great state of Nevada. That’s why opportunists like Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin are already angling for Reid’s job as Senate Majority Leader.

That’s why opportunists like Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin are already angling for Reid’s job as Senate Majority Leader.

As if anticipating the inevitable, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell confessed, “There’s been no funeral yet. The body is still warm. But they do want to each jockey for position.”

These two make Reid seem warm and likeable. Not an easy task to accomplish.

Chuck Schumer gives tap dancing lessons in the Senate

ABC’s Jake Tapper really does ask some tough questions. But he’s just no match for Chuck Schumer, widely acknowledged as the senate’s finest tap dancer. Watch how deftly Schumer tap dances around this question without actually answering it

ABC’s Jake Tapper really does ask some tough questions. But he’s just no match for Chuck Schumer, widely acknowledged as the senate’s finest tap dancer. Watch how deftly Schumer tap dances around this question without actually answering it:

Tapper: The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Achronoth quoted an anonymous confidante to Prime Minister Netanyahu calling President Obama “The greatest disaster for Israel, a strategic disaster.” I’m sure you have some constituents who share those views and perhaps those concerns. Do you think that the White House has behaved toward Israel and the prime minister of Israel as you would want them to?

Schumer: Well. let me say this. I think everybody here in the United States, virtually everybody, and the vast majority of Israelis, want peace. They’re willing to accept a two state solution. The best way to bring about that peace is let the two sides negotiate and bring them together. I think one of the problems we have faced in the Middle East is that too many of the Palestinians, they elected Hamas, sworn to Israel’s destruction, don’t really believe in peace. And I do believe that you have to let the two parties come together. If the United States imposes preconditions, particularly on the Palestinian and Arab side, they’ll say we won’t come and negotiate.

If we’re not mistaken, Schumer just did a beautiful job of executing the ol’ keep-talking-until-they-forget-what-the-queston-was maneuver.

Dance, Senator Schumer, dance.

Feverishly, Barbara pressed her soft, moist lips to Hillary’s pouting breasts

No, we can’t explain this photo. But Democrat Senators Chuck Schumer and HIllary Clinton appear to be making a Barbara Mikulski sandwich. A ménage à droit, so to speak.

The thought is too horrifying to contemplate.

Sara Palin’s book sells 1,000,000 copies in two weeks. Chuck Schumer’s sells 10,000 in two years.

Our first reaction was, “Really? Chuck Schumer wrote a book?” Our second reaction was, “Hmmm. Surprised it sold that many copies?” And our third reaction was, “This massive rejection by America’s literati may help explain why the New York Democrat’s always in such a pissy mood.”

Chuck Schumer's book is available on Amazon.com for a little as $1.95. That's still overpriced.

And our third reaction was, “This massive rejection by America’s literati may help explain why the New York Democrat’s always in such a pissy mood.”

The New York Post reports Schumer’s tale of stone cold sales:

“Politicos are snickering at the plight of Sen. Charles Schumer, who holds more press conferences than any other lawmaker but can’t seem to connect with the public. His book, “Positively American,” released in 2007, sold 9,000 copies in hardcover and fewer than 1,000 in paperback, according to Nielsen Bookscan, which tracks about 75 percent of the nation’s book sales. By comparison, Sarah Palin’s “Going Rogue” sold 1 million copies in two weeks.”

Far be it from us to doubt the New York Post, but we think its story contains a major error.

We don’t doubt that people are snickering at Schumer. We’re just not sure it has anything to do with his book.
