Demonstrators protest bank opening on MLK Day, hand out leaflets “Dear TD Bank, you are defying the King holiday. Shame, Shame, Shame. This is a racist act. Shame, Shame, Shame.” Ummm, but aren’t the demonstrators themselves working on MLK day by demonstrating? Raaaaacist, protest thyself, eh?

TD is a Canadian bank - banked with them all my life. The US should consider themselves lucky that Canadian banks are operating in your country since these banks are the most stable and profitable in the world. Suck it up!!

TD bank bought out Commerce Bank here in the US. Commerce Bank has always been open 7 days a week for the convienience of it's customers. I know this because a distant relative of mine was one of the founders of Commerce Bank, he's from NJ, and was the head of the County Republican Party where I lived.
I'm trying to figure out what these protesters have against someone serving their customers.

I wouldn't have known about it except for two things. The venue where my "drumming for bellydancers" class is held canceled us so they could have a MLK celebration, and the dumpsters are getting piled pretty high.

TD Bank is a Canadian company, they don't observe all US holidays, nor do they close on President's day, or Columbus day. Most companies don't observe MLK day either, especially here in NH.
