The really sad thing is professional chefs have repeatedly shown they can make healthful,tasty food the kids will eat, and still meet government requirements for n u movers of serving in each category and still stay within the miniscule budget allowances provides ED . Health food doesn't have to taste terrible. And shouldn't!

Funny thing is, I don't remember ever eating at the school cafeteria. I remember having to go there when I was young, but I brought my own food. In high school I barely had a conception of where the cafeteria was, and I remember going there once to find someone and wondering, "Why would anybody old enough to make a sandwich come to this dismal nasty smelling place?" In high school I ate at burger joints and bars (drinking age was 18).
When I was in high school EVERYONE ate in the cafeteria, lunch from home or not. And no one could go off campus (we were still minors then.) I am saying that there is a way to make good healthy food, but it would mean actuallt changing the approach of the Cafeteria workers, and the Administration. Did anyone watch Jamie Oliver on his 2 Food Revolution shows? He changed the people in Wheeling West Virginia (though they went kicking and screaming) and was doing great in California until a change in management at the District level shut him down. We don't HAVE to feed out kids crap!
