HALF of Americans don’t pay income tax despite crippling government debt. Hear that Flea Baggers, so why aren’t you out there asking them to pitch in their fair share? Oh that’s right . . . because you’re part of the tax eater segment that is living off the forced charity of those that actually have to do something for a living.

As if the fact that half the nation doesn't pay any tax at all, a big chunk of those non payers actually are GIVEN money by the government (Earned income credit). Those those who DO pay taxes are getting a double hit.
I remember when I was working at the loan office and the chick actually said that the financial aid was going to be her only INCOME so she was grateful that it was so large. I was thinking to myself: "uhm I got a job working at the school where I get paid... you could do the same you know?" It is so disgusting... I was working AND paying taxes, she was not working, living with free money and not paying taxes. Absolutely disgsuting.
I worked and took 19 hours. Other than Fine Arts classes (where a full 18 hour load is about 8 classes scattered all over the day every day) There is no reason why you can't work SOME/ But of course you might have to give up partying on the weekend, and after all what is college for?
Next will come the "Upside down tax" where liberal goons take taxpayers, put them upside down and shake the spare change out of their pockets to distribute to the losers who pay nothing.
Yet they cry, bitch and moan for those of us who are paying taxes to pay more. When we refuse to pay any more we are racist, bigots, money whores and non caring.
It's time those not paying start paying and it's real simple. Abolish the IRS, go to a national sales tax with no exemptions.....!!! This will stop the "under the table economy". If you buy some thing, you pay the sales tax. You don't buy anything , you don't pay.
Once again, I am totally against this. Too many chances for the gooberment to abuse us with this. Flat tax or no tax.
This is the "fair shake" that all the Democrats/Progressives keep whining/crying about. However, this tax base MUST be increased. The income tax is well outdated. We should demand a total repeal of the income tax - following by the immediate closing of the IRS - and move to a consumption tax. This way, every living breathing body in the US will be paying at least something, and Congress can then do what it does best - name buildings after themselves, or creating "National Days" of recognition. Hell, maybe then a congress person might not have to be employed full-time as a congress person - what a blessing that would be!
Sorry Dan, a consumption tax won't work IMHO. Everyone pushing the unFAIR TAX keeps saying that product prices will drop because business won't have to pay income tax, I say bullshit. Then the government will be tacking on an additional 21% to the price of everything, on top of state sales tax? No freaking way! It will kill small business because there is no mechanism in place to make suppliers lower their prices.
Dan suggestions can work if all loopholes are closed. It will take an honest and well doing Congress and Presidential Administration. That is the tricky part.
And Timmy Geithner would STILL figure out a way to keep from paying his share. He's a genius, you know.
I notice the numbers are up and down in a relatively low range until the so called "boom" years under Clinton, when they start increasing markedly. And its never stpped.
When "Dear Leader" took office that number was only 47%, and 3 years later it's up to 50%. It seems his policy of government mandated poverty is working.
But it all comes back to the old question.
What do you do when you run out of other people's money?
Although Obama seems to have solved that question, he just prints what he can't borrow from China.
