Hey - this is Bush's fault, not years of commu..., ah, democrat rule. If Detroit had only listened to comrade Gore and Chairman O and switched to making battery cars years earlier, their decline could have been avoided. But no, encouraged by Bush & Cheney, they kept making planet-wrecking SUV and pickup trucks to feed his addiction to oil.
Detroit and its politics should serve as a clear warning to every municipality in America! It is not as if their plan and actions would work anywhere else under different "leadership".
So, the people who are left in these areas with reduced service will have the appropriate amounts cut from their taxes right? No, I didn't think so either.
Taxes? We don't pay no stinking taxes!
Reducing their "footprint." Soon the greeners will be touting Detroit as an environmental Mecca.
I do hope they can still film the show from the pawn shop there. That's comedy gold!

I actually have a great idea on how to make some serious money in Detroit and probably save the city. I can't share because you are all evil capitalist pigs :-) and will steal my idea lol.
Soon Detroit will look like North Korea, an island of darkness in a sea of light. Detroit has been ruled by Democrats for the past fifty years. Fifty years of business and population flight, crumbling infrastructure, failed schools, ever increasing taxes and corrupt, criminal, incompetent politicians.
Worst of all, no matter how bad things get, Detroit will continue to be ruled by Democrats, the people still living in the city will remain loyal to the plantation owners because they have become dependent on the handouts.
They will blame everybody but themselves for their misfortune.

Sooo anyone else think they are dumping on da poor and minorities? Taking out their streetlights..not repairing the streets or sidewalks..sounds kinda Racist to me...I bet the people who live in a "distressed area are just thrilled..maybe next the city can cut off police and fire protection, mail delivery and electricity so these folks can live like the pioneers....Best thing that could happen to Detroit? Let Canada take it by force.(by force I mean a couple girl scout troops with pointy sticks) .we will not fight them for it...
