OK, to be fair, it all depends on which HD you are in, and when. There are plenty of HD employees that are more knowledgeable than anyone at Lowe's. Several years ago they started a Pro program, where they hired one licensed professional in each department, to give expert advice to customers. It has worked really well, but now they have decided to shelve the program. Any pro associates that leave will not be replaced. This is the same plan they had years ago when Bob Nardelli was CEO. He thought he could run the company with retail drones from Walmart and K-Mart. It didn't work, and the stock price reflected it, I bought stock at the low of $21.10, now it's in the $90+ range. I see it going south from here, but not because of CAIR, since this is only happening in Detroitistan, or wherever it is, but because of the loss of people that know what is going on. If the founders of the company were still in charge, this would never happen.
Lowe's is more for the home redecorator, Home Depot for the builder. Most of the things I need, Lowe's doesn't carry. Fact is, a lot of stuff I need, since my needs are so unusual, (very few people building giant rocking horses), Home Depot doesn't even have. But the mom and pop shops don't have hardly anything that I need. But I actually do find knowledgeable people at Home Depot on a regular basis.
I switched to Lowes years ago. When you ask a Lowes employee where something is, they actually know. At HD, when you can find one not shooting the shit with a co-worker they simply send you to the other end of the store rather than saying, "I have no f**king idea."
One of my son's worked at one for awhile. He actually developed clients who would come in and ask for him specifically because he made it a point to learn where everything in the store was, not to to mention he speaks English.
I used to work at HD in NJ. I had the same reaction. People sent their friends in to find me when they had a problem. I would actually draw out circuit diagrams to show them how to do the electrical work they were trying to accomplish. I spent so much time helping customers that I got in trouble for not stocking the shelves. On my review, they had the nerve to say my customer service was bad!
One of the many people I've convinced of the story about the plywood tree was a neighbor of mine in Auburn. He works at Home Depot. I'm not sure if he's in the lumber department.
No need to ever go back into another Home Depot again.
Home Depot, the only thing we don't have is balls....Who are they gonna knuckle under to next? Just like Sweden, lets all celebrate diversity and undergo cultural awareness and learn to love those that want to behead us and make us slaves....I say to you home depot...F*ck you.
Is it any wonder Home Cheepo is going down the crapper? Although I am curious how they found a Muslim who could use a hammer for something besides beating infidels to death with.
