Judging strictly by the amount of excrement involved, the Occupy Movement is not dead yet.
No food?? I seriously doubt that--there may be no hot or gourmet food, but I bet there are plenty of fruits and vegetables, bread, crackers, etc. I feel for the folks (especially the toilet situation), but if 4000 folks are already fighting over food after a couple of days, then God help all of us when it happens to millions!
People were griping about only having "onion sandwiches" to eat. That seems really weird. Onion sandwiches? No canned beenie-weenies or tuna sandwiches? That does not really make sense.
I am actually wondering if things are as bad as they are purported to be for everyone? Or just some people? I just can't imagine that 4000 people have become instant savages, pooing on the floor and all. I also cannot believe that 4000 people are all on the deck of the ship, and no one is down below. But if the conditions below are that bad, how could anyone stay down there? It's not logical.
So, yeah. Maybe there was an element of drama in the reporting. I guess we will be hearing more soon.

Oh yeah - good point! I have heard a few things since the "victims" have been released, and it sounds like it was pretty bad, but NOT as bad as the dramatic reports. I am guessing that the rooms nearest the engine room, on the bottom levels were the worst hit, but most people were reporting stuff like "bad smells", "only cold water", and so on. Not that that is OK, especially when you blow your entire annual vacation on a freaking CRUISE, and then end up on the sewage barge, but the passengers were not dying of dysentery either.
Interviews on FOX News had people talking about waiting in line for a burger, so the onion sandwich thing sounds fishy to me.
And they've had ships delivering supplies daily. I just wonder why they can't take a few thousand people off of this one, and get them on shore.
I read that a mom from Texas has driven to Mobile to get her daughter, who is on cruise with her Daddy. Mom has brought clean clothes and ANTIBIOTICS.
In all seriousness, I really do not understand why they cannot get these people off that ship. I realize that there are 4000 people there, but what if the ship did a Titanic? Would those people still be un-rescuable? To leave those people sitting in such miserable conditions is really horrid.
How many of those people do you suppose will ever even USE the free tickets Carnival will give them for their trouble? I doubt I would. Ever.
