Honeymoon is over for Ashley Judd. Kentucky Democrats are stepping back, taking a clear look, and deciding a Hollywood liberal loony-tune might not be the best senate candidate in a conservative Midwest state. As Homer Simpson would say: “D’oh!”

I find the idea that 'Democratic base would hold it against her.' would seem more realistic as the 'Democratic base would know or care that there was any difference.' Democrats - 80 percent of them, anyway - are as ignorant as the other 20% keep them.

  • Her form fitting dress with the plunging neckline shows off her pert buttocks. This about sums up important part of what the writer said in basically his own words, if it was a male writer.     There are some angles that still work for the camera and the dress speaks for itself, sort of.

    • She has aged a whole lot better then any of the 42-year olds around the office, that's for sure.

      She's about my age.. i had a pic of her up in my locker in A.I.T. when i randomly saw her featured in some article about her early acting career.. All innocent, sitting cross-legged, beautiful smile.. 22 or 23 at the time

      • She looks great. There will be photos that don't flatter for each person, but the basic setup has to be intact to pull this sort of look off, an it definitely is intact. Her youthful good looks have not been completely lost, there can be no denying. She's nuts. She's a complete hypocrite. She's got an awful lot of people convinced that she's real smart. All of this doesn't mean she would win an election, but it sure lends credence to the concept. Now, those family shots, we need to see lots more of those.

        • It's tough taking a good picture of anyone in front of the sponsor wall. No control over lighting, no decent poses. Too many other liberals around to screw things up. A number of obstacles to overcome.

  • McConnell is gaining a lot of sympathy in Kentucky with a commercial in which his wife talks about the liberal group which attacked her ethnicity. Mitch might be in trouble if the Kentucky Democrats nominate a conservative Democrat, but not if they nominate a Hollywood ideologue who is on film being a militant Pro-Abortionist. Judd said she hasn't had any children because she doesn't want to overburden the earth and the world. This was the argument Michael "Meathead" used to make on "All In The Family". Does this have anything to do with the breakup of her marriage? How sad when people have no sense of souls living in eternal life or at least another generation of life in this world with all its problems.

    • And eventually, didn't Meathead father a child in All in the Family? I suspect her not havng kids was based more on her career and the fact that her family was screwed up growing up than any concern for the earth.

  • The fact the D's were even thinking about a hollywood type in a place like Kentucky just goes to show that the D's are:
    1) Terrified
    2) Completely out of touch with the world of reality
    3) They only care about winning/ideology, and not about their constituents' best interest.

    They are as looney as Judd and the Hollywood libtards. They are not in it for the people-just in it to push their radical, anti-American ideology. PERIOD

  • Come on boys in Frankfort. Please oh please put her up for office. Her idiotic foolish statements would leave her hard press to winner any where except CA (sorry guys).

    Now if the TEA party can just get our act together in this state we can get rid of the RINO Mitch and put in another stellar Senator like Rand Paul.

  • Before she started spewing her political insanity and was just a really cute actress I rather liked her. Now I'm left to hope Marisa Tomei never loudly announces her left leaning proclivities, cuz I still like her. I just got this feeling someone here is gonna link up some Marisa libspew.

    It does seem that the liberal actresses do not age physically as well as those who don't show their liberalism or show they are not so screwed in the head that they're liberals at all.

        • I liked her in a couple movies actually, quite a lot. The one with morgan freeman where she was kidnapped and held in a dungeonesque prison with a bunch of other hotties. That was a pretty good movie and she did the role very well. There was at least one other one that her work was appreciable in, probably more.

          Now, I won't even leave anything she is in on my TV. Many people feel the same way. It has to eventually make its way back to the hollywoodies.

          • I think it was called "Kiss The Girls". Pretty good flick. Double Jeopardy was decent, also. Now I'm of DefHarryMelon's attitude towards her. Even her husband appears to be sick of her BS.

          • Patterson is one of the authors I am personally boycotting. Two reasons: one, he overcharges for the Kindle version; and two, he publishes books with his name in big fat letters across the top but with tiny letters at the bottom saying, "Written by..." In other words, he's scamming the reading public. I suspect he doesn't write anymore, just mints money by trading on his name. It's not so much that I contend he doesn't have the right to do what he's doing. It's more about fairness. Those young authors with their names in tiny print should have their names in large print if they're doing the writing.

          • I know he has co-written with other authors, though the ones I have seen were also recognized names. If he is putting his name as author on someone else's work, that's plaegerism, and no, its not alright. And you are correct that if it is a coauthorship both names should be about the same size. Of course, the young authors are likely mmaking a fortune on people who buy the book thinking Patterson is the author. For awhile, at least, they won't complain.

          • Tom Clancy did the same thing and still does, but now even more deceptively, in that the titles aren't identifiable with a sub-series he started with other co-authors, and some of those were darned good. Really gives me a pistoff.

          • I need to finish up the Ryan cycle then.. I especially enjoyed Red Storm Rising (don't actually remember Ryan's part in that, if there was any, thinking he was just a side character). There's a bit of synchronicity here: back then I used to play a game called Empire and reading RSR inspired me to start coding my own wargame on the Atari ST. This project, and another one later, helped me convince a guy to give me an entry level programming job back in '95.

            NOW i'm working on the spiritual successor to that wargame for Android, because I couldn't find one like it.. Hoping to sell/license in a few months

          • Yeah, Tom Clancy is another one. Like you I wasn't careful and ended up buying a fake Clancy. Never forgave him. It might have been a perfectly fine book, but the point is I thought I was buying something else.

          • All the Jack Ryan novels were outstanding. The John Kelly/Clark novel was outstanding too, "Without Remorse." There were a few spinoffs that came out towards the end of the Ryan sagas. Op Center, Power Plays and Net Force were the ones I read a few of, and while some of it was a bit too much of a stretch for me, they were well within the style of Clancy writing that I liked em. There were others that I never even started after my divorce in 98, having sort of lost interest in devoting time to novels. Then about a year ago, walking through the store I saw TOM CLANCY on a brightly colored book. Took it home with me, being that I have considerable time to kill these days. Well, I cracked it open and determined I needed new reading specs. Could not screw my eyes up enough to read more than a few lines. Went to the reading spec store and with them I was unable to miss the fine print in dark below the large white TOM CLANCY on the cover. It said in a very subdued itty bitty font 'with Peter Telep' and I didn't like it one bit. Still haven't been able to continue the read. Book is Against All Enemies. Maybe one of these days.

            edit: it would make for an interesting App, in this scenario. Would require rooting an actual Kindle, or otherwise serious permissions on a standard Android device running Kindle App. Intercept the display, do some OCR and semantic analysis, and highlight the beleagured Ghost Writer's name for the human eyeballs. Temporally expensive...

          • Yep, Kiss the Girls. Very good suspense thriller. Her acting was top rate and she looked mighty fine doing it. Was she a cop in it? I know she was into martial arts, kicking and punching the heavy bag and czit.

            Double Jeopardy WAS a good one, too! Tommy Lee Jones was real good in that one as well.

            The loving couple of her real life is fractured to the point of divorce now, isn't it? Yeah, he might even have been a democrat who sees she is now a hopeless commie.

          • I read the books, didn't see the movies - in Kiss the Girls did Judd turn out to be the culprit?

          • No, she was one of the many victims, and the one that escaped and leads to the discovery of one of the places the bad guys did their dirty work.

          • Anything with Tommy Lee Jones in it is a good movie in my book. Toss in a few hot chicks, I'm ready to watch.

            Anyway, I am sort of surprised that I have no recollection of the movie "High Crimes" since, at the time it was out, I really liked a bunch of the actors in it. We are talking about mz. judd, but Jennifer Beals has been a favorite of mine since her break out movie Flashdance, and then Eva Mendez. I really like Eva. I like her a lot. A giant, humongous, enormous and large lot. She ranks way high up on the top tier of of my like-to-look-at list.

          • Another pretty good one was 'High Crimes' with Morgan Freeman and Jim Caviezel that she played a lawyer in. Like you DHF, I used to have a crush on her until she started with all her activism and political BS.
