I get the impression she works for some sort of progressive cause group & that posting here may be part of her job. Cass Sunstein talked about doing just that a while ago.

If you're dependent on the government for your income, your food stamps and your medical care you're not likely to vote against the government that provides those benefits. That's why the current regime is getting as many people as possible on the benefits from Obama's "stash". You can't buy love but you can buy votes.

Fred, a while back I read a lot of Olivia's stuff, and damn if it didn't ring a bell. We had a position open for a supervisor within a unit of the police department, Not a sworn position. I was on the interview panel. One of the people can in and had no friggin' common sense what soever but a masters degree in something like animal husbandry. She told us during the interview she understood the position was second in line to the Chief of police since the job description said: "reports to the chief of police" (or his designated supervisor) So she thought she was going to be a deputy Chief and actually asked if she got the office next to his. This was for the animal control supervisors position. This woman was book smart but had no common sense and NO comprehension. Sound like anyone you know and love? Yea Olivia reminds me of this Doofus. Every time we asked her a question during the interview she should answer, make a clicking sound with her mouth and sigh. We she left all of us were laughing so hard we almost cried. and then we make clicking noises and sighed a lot. Think of that when you see Olivia's name come up, she hears but does not understand, she sees but can not comprehend, so basically she is a waste of space.

Really? Go into any inner city and tell me that's the case. Most of those people are the ones voting for entitlement (Social) programs. And I gotta say, they really don't look to be the financially sound people I would trust with MY funds. And most of the inner cities don't really look like they are filled with healthy and productive people.
I work in several of those "Healthy and productive areas" You know the ones with shootings, murders, stabbings, rampant dope sales, robbing, rapes, gangs,all the civilized behavior that Liberals never acknowledge when they make statements like she did. The majority of these people are not trapped, they choose to live there and all they get is handouts and gobernment cheese and trust me, they know how to game the system.

People on welfare usually vote themselves bennefits by voting for Democrats. I would like to see a couple of things done to the recipient class...

She admitted that she knew how to work the system, and she herself was on SSI for disability, as were at least one of her kids.
She works for my current employer, as well (I work in a field that is a small world, and you keep running into the same people again and again). Not long after I started here, I ran into her at a gas station near work. She was driving a brand-new Dodge Charger. She'd admitted in the past that she pretty much just worked to have spending money.
I ran into her recently, and she told me she was going to be out for a while to have surgery. Having a hysterectomy, she said. I bit my tongue and swallowed the impulse to ask if the state of Texas had sent her a thank-you card.

Olivia, get a grip. What ever "reform" was attempted 16 years ago did nothing but change the names of the programs. People are still managing to get assistance in several areas because the reform only applied to adult welfare recipients. Inmy state, they have NEVER had benefits. Families with children have no limit on aid, food stamps can be gotten for 40 years, since it is a nutritional assistance program, not welfare. Housing is just that. Housing. Not welfare. Medicaid is not welfare. GROW UP and relaize that youare dreaming about reformation. A zillion people are still on various forms of assistance, and the limit on welfare payments is no lnger in force. Somebody remind me which Governor just got attacked for cutting off welfare after 4 years? That was supposed to be in effect EVERYWHERE!
