How bad is the NY Police Department under de Blasio

• The way things work, Bank robberies are a FEDERAL crime, meaning the FBI gets notified. It appears the NYPD took the initial report and went, "who cares", and forwarded to the FBI who will never find this guy in a million years because he does not have a tea party sticker or confederate flag on his wheel chair.

  • People who rob banks are stupid. You get the local cops and the FBI involved and it's a big felony and bigger if you use a gun.

    You can forge a payroll check, cash it with some moron teller and walk out the door with $1,800. No one will know who you are, the bank don't give a shit and will put the money back in your account and the person will likely never get caught. If they do (especially in California) this is a non-violent crime and they'll probably get it bargained down to a misdemeanor and probation if they're a first time offender.

    We've had this happen 3 times. It's our belief that somoene uses a check cashing service and they get the bank info and then forge the checks and they can make sure funds are in the bank, so when it's fat with some money they send someone out to cash a payroll check made to a phony name and phony ID (which you can get on about any corner in Oakland).

    The cops don't give a shit. The business is in one city, the bank used is in another and the bank the check was cashed at is in yet another.

    You go to the PD where it was cashed they tell you to go to the PD where the office is and report it there. You go there and the tell you to go to the PD where the branch you use is, you go to that PD and they tell you to go to the first PD.

    • It is that way by design, limited jurisdiction and the fact that politicians don't consider white collar crime to be important all all, so it's okay to steal grandma's life savings, but do not sexually assault her or all bets are off.

      Very few of these identity theft/check kiting/money stealing assholes ever get caught because the laws make it so hard to prove. Plus the fact most of them are relatives of democrat politicians.

• They were probably looking for a white guy running down the street since they can't say "black" or "in a wheel chair" over the radio without someone complaining.
