On Home Improvement, the boys were downstairs one morning. Mark (the youngest) talks about hearing noises from the parent's room. Randy (middle son) explains that they were probably having one of their "somersault contests". When Tim and Jill come downstairs, Mark says "I know what you were doing last night - who won the somersault contest?" Tim replies, "Your mom did. She always wins."
After Mark leaves, Tim turns to Jill. "You DID win, didn't you?"
Jill: "Twice."
...I expect the book will be pulled when some "sexuality educator" objects to "mommy and daddy" wrestling in the missionary position, with the covers hiding their bodies. That's not "sex positive" or "female-empowering"--it's male-centric and induces shame. How dare small children be taught that sex is something to be done in private, hidden, with the man allowed on top?

Said it before and I will say it again. the left want's your children's innocence. They will stop at nothing to get it-including placing books that shouldn't be where the little ones can get them, where little ones can get them.
Our library is a mine field of depravity-thanks to a liberal mindset to have kids screwing at 10, so they can keep justifying planned parenthood's existence. It is disgusting. Pollute kids, so you can murder babies-thanks DNC! Douchebags.

then there is another book, with similar drawings and a similar reference to "Daddy and Mommy wrestling"...Maybe someone out there will help me here: the other reference in the book was about the orgasm (I am paraphrasing here) "mommy got a warm a tingly feeling"...As I said: these references were in the original book in the 1970's, and since my aunt died when I was 14...I have a pretty good recollection of the themes and drawings in the book. Anyone have information out there?
"Daddy and Mommy Wrestling"... that's a great title. With text like, "...mommy got a warm a tingly feeling...” I should think the subtitle would be, "The Chris Matthews Story!"
Oh no, a book with cartoony, anatomically-correct pictures to help teach kids truth and life. How terrible! How many of those K through 4th-graders know what a "uterus" is anyway without asking their parents? Here's an idea for the parents all upset about this: watch your kids. You have TV and internet in your house and change the channel if you don't want your kid to see something, right? Great! Now try the same thing with books.
Heck, even the author says the book isn't meant for kids alone. And no one wants to burn the book, right? So the only argument is "where in the library should the book be kept?"
Btw, on that note, if your library only keeps "The Little Prince" in the kids' section, it's doing the world a disservice. (And for those of you who are now going to go read TLP, "you're welcome.")
OK I gotta tell this story. True. A friend of mine's son, age 8 or 9 at the time asked dad "Where do babies come from?" Dad says, "Babies come from the mother." and left it at that. About a year later the kid says, "OK I understand that babies come from the mother, but how do they get there." So his dad told him. The kid was real quiet for a minute or so and tells his dad, "I hope my wife and I have twins the first time." Dad asked why was that, kid says, "Cause I'd only wanna have to do that once."

I have a set of children's books that teaches 'birds and the bees 101.' The book meant for littlest ones does not get that specific. The later ones meant for older children does get more specific, but is not that graphic.
The book does seem to be a little 'too much, too soon.'
Parents abdicating responsibility for their kids? Who's surprised about that?
When I was 13 or 14 (1973), my aunt (whom I was living with) went over this book with myself and my then 7 year old cousin (we are both female). What I learned from this book was: how my mom conceived me, what a warm relationship between a mom and dad can create, and that a careful and loving explanation (yes, by a parent) of this topic can lead to healthy relationships in the future.

It's remarkable that your aunt read you this book in 1973 considering the fact that the author, Dori Hillestad Butler, was born in 1965 and the book was first published in 2005.

She might be talking about the other book, "where did I come from?" which is very similar and does have some pictures and is a good book to go over with children.
Thank you Keith, all of the people I grew up with have since died, or I would have been able to accurately reference this book. Where did I come from was read to me by my aunt (who adopted me) and I thought it was warm and caring. It is important that she was, to me, a mother figure and took the time to explain this wonderful time of my growing up in a personal and nurturing manor.
I'll bet christie andresen has been under sniper fire with the clinton ovary holders. Her taxes are voluntary too.
