Ian David Long, California shooter, was Marine maybe suffering PTSD. This appears to us to be another law enforcement failure that cost 13 people their lives. He was not taken in for observation, had extended magazines for his Glock that are illegal in California. Not to mention we wonder if he indeed had PTSD, was he being treated for it? VA Hospital? Hello?
“We’ve had several contacts with Mr. Long over the years, minor events, a traffic collision,” he said. “In April of this year, deputies were called to his house for a subject disturbing. They went to the house, they talked to him. He was somewhat irate. Acting a little irrationally.”
Mental health professionals sent to evaluate him concluded he did not need to be taken into custody, he said.

I don't think this is about PTSD. The media wants this to be about PTSD so they can justify classifying veterans as dangerous, but read this:

This loon was already crazy in high school, long before he was a Marine. And what did the high school do? They talked the coach he assaulted out of filing charges and swept the attack under the rug... so it wouldn't damage his chances of becoming a Marine. This is how stupid public educators are. They decided a good place for a mentally ill teenager was in the military where he could be trained to use guns to kill people. If I was a relative of one of his victims, I would sue the shit out of that high school.
Yep, seen it myself, up close and personal. My ex-fiance, may she rest in peace, was bi-polar. He was in trouble with the police on a regular basis, nothing of any consequence was ever done about it. Then, right after he turned 18, off his meds, and he shot me in the chest with a high powered pellet rifle, from about three inches away. I still have the pellet, lodged between two ribs.
He actually did a year and a half in juvenile hall on that one, then was allowed to join the Army. I have no idea where he is now, hopefully nowhere near me. If I was to see something like this associated with that kid, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
There was a time in history when masses of people were needed for "cannon fodder" but that's not the way we fight anymore. Every single person in the military is an investment in time and training that argues against the rest of the nation treating the military like a big septic tank where they can flush their inconvenient whack-jobs. It really pisses me off when high schools and social workers drop the ball and cover their incompetence by sending their mistakes into the military... and then when something bad happens down the road it's those same social workers and educators who jump up first to blame the military. No, Mr. Liberal, this guy was not driven crazy by his experiences in the military and no, Mr. Liberal, you cannot paint every veteran with the stink that is coming off this one. What I find so aggravating about this is that, in my experience, by and large, veterans are more sane, more rational, and more level-headed than the average citizen who is not a veteran. Even the veterans with PTSD, in my experience, display a level of rationality that your average Berkeley leftist can only dream about.
Just saw this..what a bunch of shit! These pervert hiding, child molestors have the balls to bitch about guns? Perhaps they are worried that one of the thousands of children they boinked will get a gun and shoot their asses. Say 10 hail mary's and go F*uk yourselves...

Yea the mental health "Professionals" we have in Kalifornia are nuttier than the people police take to see em...I have stories about these "professionals" and their stupid shit...
Not so Silent
They are every where, sadly.
We do not have a gun problem to the extent that we have a mental problem. The biggest part of the mental problem is monitoring and control.
The way the left wants to control the problem is to take everyone's guns. They just don't realize the crazies and outlaws will not turn in their illegal weapons. They will never find them all, not even close. It comes down to the well used saying, When They Outlaw Guns Only Outlaws Will Have Guns, and we will be at their mercy.
