“Ice melt stuns scientists.” That was the headline Yahoo used to link to a LiveScience article headlined, “Record Greenland Ice Melt Happened in Days.” Trouble is, this sort of melt happens approximately every 150 years and the last one was in 1889… so this isn’t stunning, it isn’t a record, and Yahoo and LiveScience are full of shit.

All the ice suddenly melted off Greenland? I just looked at a satellite photo taken just a few days ago, and I'm still not planning on spending any vacation time there enjoying the tropics. Looks like their was still plenty of white, is that some sort of tropical flower growing? And when all the ice comes back in September, will be be due to the dreaded climate change as well?
It has been doctored...the ice in Greenland is a mile thick and it doesn't just melt in days, though the headline would lead you to believe...what we have here probably is your usual winter vs summer photo. "Surface" ice melt, in summer? Who'd thunk it?
This is "surface ice." Here's what is happening: the ice sheets, which you're referring to, are miles thick and are not cooperating with the Global Warmists by melting, so they are now talking about the thin layer of temporary surface ice on top of the ice sheets. They're doing this to confuse and sow alarm in the populace, hoping all they will hear is "the ice in Greenland suddenly melted."
Did they check to see if anyone was using salt on the sidewalks and streets because they were tired of slipping on the ice in the summer? ;-)

It's inspiring, isn't it? The media keeps chugging along with its propaganda campaign, but the people are getting educated by alternative information sources... like IHTM and Watt's Up With That.
