Swedish retail giant Ikea used political prisoners in East Germany as “slave labour” to make furniture, secret police files unearthed by a German broadcaster appear to show. Quoted in a Stasi file, Ingvar Kamprad, Ikea’s founder, said while he had no official knowledge of the use of prison labour, if it did indeed exist “in the opinion of Ikea it would be in society’s interests.” In 1942, Kamprad was a member of the New Swedish Movement, a fascist party supportive of the Nazis. Nazis and Commies, they go together like the Obamas and lavish taxpayer-funded vacations.

Why not? They are PRISONERS and violators of the law. We used them here as well. They make license plates and clean up road crews.
Wait... A lot of these East Germany prisoners were "deserters" who didn't like to live in Crap East Germany right? So if their main crime was deciding to defect and live in freedom, how is that okay that in addition they were used as slave labour? What the heck are you talking about?
I don't think I have ever bought an IKEA product and it seems that I will not at any point.
We are all "violators of the law" when the law is written by despots. Maybe you need to review your Political Science 101 notes.

I didn't know this. 3 yrs. ago I bought a 10 pc. Swedish bedroom suite from them. It is very decent furniture too for the price. I have less than $2K in it. anywhere else the price would've doubled. I guess they've now lost my business. Too bad.
