• This happened because of the weakness of quagmire and heinz-kerry. Just like Carter and Vance. If your foe perceives weakness, they will act and act in ways that they know will stick their thumbs into your eyes.

• An ally doesn't ask an ally to be in a surrender position and then embarrass them in the international arena. Obviously Iran is not an ally.

• I'm just being an armchair captain but you'd think they would have scuttled the broke down boat and left on the other one, providing they were drifting towards Iranian territory. But it's also very possible they were in international waters when this happened and got surprised.

• I'm sure the sailors were under strict orders not to defend themselves, but whoever issued the orders(including the Commander-in-Chief) ought to be court martialed.
