  • Ha! The entire government is and has been out of control since obutthole entered the WH.

  • But, of course, I have to save my receipts for seven years, because it's somehow suspicious that I spent four dollars on a stapler for my office.

    • It sounds like you have a business. Because you are an IHTM regular, I'm going to give you a neat tip that I learned from an IRS agent years ago: if you file a Schedule C, list your expenses on a separate sheet of paper by VENDOR, not by classification as the official form encourages. And list them to the penny even if you round to the dollar when you transfer the total to the form. If it's a small business and you can possibly do it, list every damn receipt in chronological order. See, what happens is, if your return is flagged for an audit, which many Schedule Cs are, when the agent at the IRS sees that list of expenses, he will say to himself, "Oh this guy has his receipts for sure, no point auditing this one."

      You're welcome.

      • Fortunately, in construction, this is very easy. For example, Home Depot has a Pro Rewards program, whereby they will email you copies of every receipt, with a job name on it. It makes for much easier tracking of expenses. It also makes it convienient, because you don't have to worry about having the paper copies of the receipts. You can download them from the email, and save them as a PDF in a separate folder by job, and they are automatically kept chronologically, so you can just bring them to the audit on a flash drive, or a CD.

  • This is just another reason we need Ted Cruz, and his plan to abolish the IRS, institute the Flat Tax of 10%, and the Business Flat Tax of 16%.

    • I guess even Cruz doesn't understand that business taxes are passed through to the consumer in retail pricing? The end consumer pays ALL taxes. A tax on businesses is a tax on US.

      • I agree with you. Taxing corporations is like trying to lift yourself up by the bootstraps--it's fundamentally illogical. But the American public is too ignorant for the explanations necessary to make them understand that. All they see are "rich corporations" who should "pay their share." The fact that their beloved grandmother owns stock in that corporation and she pays income tax on every dime of dividends she receives is beyond the average American's ability to comprehend. So the best you can hope for with nimrods like Bernie Sanders in Congress, is that you lower the rate of business taxation to something that doesn't discourage businesses from operating in the U.S. Right now we have the highest rates in the world.

        • While I don't disagree with you both about that, it is still way less than they are paying in taxes now, and it will cost them much less to pay lawyers to find them loopholes to not pay as much. In the end, they will be saving lots of money, and are more likely to reinvest it back into the business, meaning more jobs here, and less money hidden offshore.

  • And just today that prick that is the nutless speaker of the house REFUSED to impeach that bald head jerk off that runs the IRSS..Imagine. a Rino looking the other way at the criminals in the Obutthead Administration....What a bunch of worthless pricks on both sides of the isle...If only a meteor would strike D.C. and vaporize them all..
