Is Athens burning? Yes, yes it is. Greece has a problem: it’s basically like the unskilled, unemployed dude that owes a lot of money to his siblings that he can’t pay back. When they cut his allowance, his only way of dealing with it is to set fire to the basement. There’s no good way out of the mess for the Greeks, and maybe no bad way either. Worst of all, Greece may be the canary in the coal mine.

I was stationed in Athens during the early 80's. Big city but I can't really say I liked the inhabitants...too many socialists and union thugs. Now we're seeing the chickens come home to roost, so to speak, and it's not a pretty sight. Don't get me wrong, I knew many hard working and industrious people while I lived in Greece...just not all in one place!
