Issa: Lerner waived her rights by giving an opening statement, so we’re bringing her back before the committee. She waived our rights without our knowledge or consent. Will anything be done? We doubt anyone in Congress has the balls.

Sorry. As much as I would like to see this "arrogant and snooty bitch" (well put hisham) squirm, I am afraid it ain't gonna happen. Those days in this country are long gone and the corruptocrats are running the show. Bend over....er I mean Forward.
Issa, either wittingly or unwittingly, laid a trap for Ms. Lerner. By puffing out her chest and making her pompous statement, she stepped into the octogon. I didn't see a lawyer behind her, hissing in her ear, so maybe she hasn't lawyered up yet. If that is the case, she may be the lynchpin that lets us crack this thing wide open. Although Hope is not a strategy, it is a help to those of us who are still clinging to the tatters of our Republic

But here's a different perspective: I see Issa as the only hope we really have. He is not strong enough to do it alone though. Issa is a researcher. He is the guy who can sniff around and figure out what is happening. He knows who is who and has a good handle of the scandals (didn't mean to rhyme that, lol). But he needs a pitbull beside him. Some muscle for his brains, if you will. It's like asking an accountant to handle a prison bully.
In the meantime, don't be too hard on Issa. If nothing else, he is laying the framework for accurate history!

It seems we have to give this arrogant and snooty bitch her constitutional due, however, that's certainly not the way IRS come after you. I know from first hand experience that they were in a grilling mood and our constitutional rights were waived, by the IRS, before we even walked in the door. That's just like these pencil pushing thugs, they'll step on your neck and grind you into dust never once thinking you even have rights, you're just plebe, but oh my heavens how they squeal like the little dictator pigs that they are when that same level of scrutiny falls back on them...my rights this, I refuse to answer your questions that, blah, blah, blah. I'm so sick and tired of this useless collection agency for the Federal Reserve and launderer of our government's other little criminal activities. It's way past time to get rid of these Orwellian bureaucracies and their Democrat and Statist sanctioned overreach. I want my country back and I want them gone. Perhaps we can give them all tickets for long stays with the friendly people they've hired to run their FEMA camps.
Let Congressman Gowdy have at her and he will put her on the defensive right out of the box. Issa may have played his card right, yet I want to see he and the others on the committee actually grill this woman over and over. Make her take the Fifth as many times as she wishes. Yet dont let her leave until ever last member has asked her questions and forced her to invoke her rights until she is hoarse from doing so.
exactly, I think that's what some people miss about the taking the 5th here - one can take the 5th to an individual question of course, but one cant give their opening statement and then announce they're taking the 5th to all other questions. it just doesnt work like that!
True. You must state, in answer to each and every question, that to tell the truth would incriminate you. It's a very powerful statement, often worse than just answering the question.
