Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said in a letter to the Ford Motor Company on Thursday that he was “deeply concerned about undue political pressure exerted by the White House.” to pull their “no bail-out” commercial: Ford claims there was no such pressure and that television ads were discontinued in accordance with a pre-existing schedule. True or not these commercials have created more buzz and good will than any advertisement we can ever remember (with the possible exception of those GoDaddy ads with the half-naked girls traipsing around). And in any event, given the immense popularity of this commercial, Ford must ask itself a very important question: Do they want to sell cars, or do they want to sell Obama?

Does anyone remember the car dealerships that were closed by Obama? They were said to be underperforming dealerships and in order for the bailout to be successful they would have to close them.
Funny, when you look at who owned these dealerships, there wasn't one Obama donor on the list! In fact, the parents of Gretchen Carlson from FOX News were among the dealership owners who were shut down.
Coincidence? I think not.

A pre-determined schedule?!?!?! I saw it ONCE! So the schedule was to have it on for less than a week? Doesn't make good business sense to me. And, HOW THE HELL can some one place "undue political pressure" on the WH??? Talk about going soft. That admin just cannot handle criticism! He has thinner skin than a 10,000 year old mummy!

Ya suppose this had anything to do with the Government handout ford got to "re-tool" for hybrid cars that no one wants? They just got a bucket O' money from Obumbles and company..It appears that even Ford can be bought off..Damn I thought they were better than that, but I guess when you get some lounge lizard from Washington D.C. waving large stacks of bills in front of your face its hard not to drool and have your eyes glaze over..
Good point. Unfortunately -for them- they would make a lot more money from a good image than they would from WH bribe cash. Come to think of it though there might have been some backdoor coercion involved. Ford is going to have to have some vehicles that will bring down their fleet's mpg average if they want to be in compliance with the crazy new CAFE standards. Perhaps, without government subsidy, the cost of further development of this useless tech that very few will want would have significantly hurt their company. Regardless it is a shame they're getting rid of the Crown Vic and will be putting out the hybrid POS.

Not withstanding the fact that Nixon was no saint I would rather have bought a used car from Tricky Dick than two used car companies for Barry Obama.
