Don’t think of it as the federal government but as your “federal family.” Or so goes a meme the administration is currently trying to popularize. We, of course, are not at all fooled by this “all in the federal family” push towards paternalistic government. No matter what they say, Big Brother is not our keeper.

I was a bit curious as to why Olivia chose to put this statement in quotations – I read and re-read the article and could not find this statement. Perhaps someone famous said it or it was said somewhere on this board in another discussion that I am unaware of. So I Googled it and found (amongst many) the following website:

This one piqued my interest in particular because of its statement “Heavy Duty AMMO to Blast The Right”. So I took a little bit of time to listen to more than a few of the podcasts that are somewhat relevant to current discussions at IHTM. What I found were uncanny similarities and in some cases close to verbatim statements that Olivia has used in her posts on this board.
This guy has not posted anything since January of 2011, but there are 168 episodes packed with enough wonderful Bush bashing, Conservative slamming and Right Wing evilness to keep a Liberal happy and fulfilled for hours on end. The plethora of talking points jammed into these podcasts gives the Liberal a vast supply of ammo to use against their enemy: the evil Righty.
You can buy a CD compiling all the podcasts so you have at your fingertips whatever “ammo” you need in just about any discussion to show those evil right wingers just how stupid and evil they are.
Am I accusing Olivia of using these podcasts in her battle against Righty? No, but as I listened I couldn’t shake the creepy notion that I’d heard this before…

I knew her answers were coming from somewhere and knew it wasn't always her own words because many of her responses are patent left wing rheteric. I told her in a post very early on that she was not presenting any "new ideas" as I had heard her responses before. In fact my beloved colleague, with whom I have had many knock down drag outs with has used many of the same arguements (verbatim). I knew his sorces were from the internet as well but I didn't know exactly which site or sites; except that he reads Huff-n-Puff daily. (What a coincidence-not).
Great find Fred! It does make one wonder. Can we now accuse Olivia of parroting this left wing podcast? Since her trite and cookie cutter answers so closely mirror this person, I believe we may now have the answer to the question "Where does she come up with this bullshit?"

I think this makes her even stupider than I previously thought. Not only does she believe the tripe she spews, but she isn't even original enough to come up with it herself.
Fascinating. It makes sense because it possibly explains why her responses are not only repetitive but also why they are out of sync as answers to another's posts.

As with real family, they are the brother in law that sleeps on your couch, drinks your beer, and "borrows" money he has no intention of repaying.
Well why not? The government has already replaced the father in many homes among single mothers ( I am talking about the women who have children without involving the fathers other than for monetary support because they know the government will take care of them via welfare.) This isnt really that big of a step now is it?
