Japan police probe man who cooked own genitals

Japan police probe man who cooked own genitals. “Tokyo police are investigating whether a man who cooked his own severed genitals and served them to five paying diners committed a crime, the force said Tuesday.” Well, as long as they were low on salt and transfats and weren’t served with a 16 oz soda, Nanny Bloomberg would approve.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • I can't believe anyone would eat that. I certainly wouldn't and it's not just because I'm allergic to nuts.

  • The complaint was about the "display of obscene objects"?

It seems to me that cannibalism was involved.

Anyway, if he was a true modern artist he would have removed them himself.
Now THAT would be performance art!

  • Sadly he removed them before he cooked them. That would have been one hell of a floor show!

    • Did you ever try lox? Gravadlax? Bagel with lox and cream cheese? Fish 'cooks' in acid, citric or acetic. So while it never gets heated, it isn't truly raw! And all that work those people put into generally makes it delicious. The genuine raw fish stuff, nah. Too risky. That's called Sashimi, completely uncooked, raw. But Sushi, well, that's Su - vinegar, and shi - which is like the suffix meaning rice. So fish cooked in acid in a cold box for a week or so. Yummy! Still, no genitalia, thank you.

        • Mmmm. Conch, shrimp and or lobster ceviche. Could live on the stuff as long as there was a sufficient stock of beer, too. And salty sea air. And some more beer and more chips for the ceviche. Some limes.

      • These kinds of cases are hard on the cops who also have to determine if any of the diners stiffed the cook and ran out without paying.

        • I heard the cook was protected against loss - he was a member of the restaurant association.

          • Groan.

Seriously, did y'all read the article?

In an email to AFP in May, he confirmed the event had taken place and said it was organised to raise awareness about "sexual minorities, x-gender, asexual people".

Probably, when you want to "raise awareness" about something, you should avoid doing something so bat-droppings crazy. Now everyone is aware all right. Aware this guy is nuts!

(*blink* You'll probably never believe me, but when I typed that last sentence, it really was "no pun intended." I have definitely been online too much this week. My brain is frying nerve ending by nerve ending. Darn Tropical Storm Debby Whateverwerecallinghernow Schmutz. All this rain has been ruining our summer vacation plans.)
