          • You know I am going to ask a question because I actually had this discussion with someone as we were discussing amicably all the issues that can stem and in my opinion WILL stem from gay marriage and other permissive behavior in culture, so this is really weird that I see this here. I apologize if this is gross I am assuming we are all adults here. Again if you are very like not into these types of adults discussions please don't read.

            Okay we were discussing you know how certain cultures in certain times and certain religious would have people (well men really) be married to more than one woman and how G-d essentially doesn't say anything against it, but HE doesn't necessarily says anything FOR it either. This is something that comes up because you know gay people will assert this when they state that there is a bit of hypocrisy on what is right or wrong and the one man one woman ways when it wasn't really something that was done in all cultures even cultures that had G-d as their Deity. So...

            We discussed the reasons why in some times and cultures this is appropriate (widows loosing everything when they have no children to take care of her having a second chance at having someone care for her, poor women from poor families, etc.) and how in this day and age when women can raise through class sections through education and work how it is not appropriate. How the fact that it is not ENDORSED by G-d at all and so we cannot assume that His silence is an endorsement so it is not necessarily something that a gay person can use in defense for gay marriage (in my opinion).

            Okay so this entire conversation devolved (well you may disagree with that word) into the sex act in of itself. The convo kind of went off course a bit. All in all, let's just ASSUME that it is "correct" right for a man to be "married" (recognized by society and I guess G-d) to two women or one woman being "married" to two men. Maybe they are bisexual or maybe they aren't they are straight. I don't know it is really weird.

            Is it gross for the three of them to have sex with one another at the same time? Like the women are not lesbians at all but they have sex with one another AND their husband and only when their husband is there with them is that okay if the "marriage" is "legal"? Or what if they have sex without their husband, but not because they want to exclude him, they love him and want to be married to him. Since they are married to the same person is this okay? I mean I don't know! (Of course two men having sex with their wife with each other and her and so on and so forth)

            I think that is a good question, but ewwwwwww. I mean seriously that is just gross. Again under the ASSUMPTION that everything is equal that everything is OK. I mean I don't know man. As a Christian I find that this is not correct. Again if societal and religion says this was okay for a man and a woman and a woman to be married is it proper for them to do that together? I mean the woman or the man is married to the one person not the other person right? So the two women or the two men since they aren't married to each other would it be bad even though they are married to the third person? :-/ Sorry if this doesn't make any sense!

            This is the reason why this whole gay marriage thing and of course all the derivatives that come after that polygamy and whatever is so confusing. G-d simplified things from the very very start, but it is an interesting question. Even if it was OKAY and LEGAL all around I think that perhaps it is best if the man or the woman just have sex with one person at a time, but I obviously don't agree with menage a trois nor with polygamy, but again that is because i don't think it is OKAY all around. The question was if it was okay all around (which I don't think it could ever be basically obviously because that is not how it was created to be from the first)....

            What do you think? Again I apologize if this is gross and disgusting to you. I am very very sorry. I can delete this if this bothers you as a person of G-d or not a person of G-d just that you don't like this. We are all adults (I hope) and it is an interesting question... I think. I have my opinion and the other person had an opinion as well so I actually want to know other people opinions. This is of course all theoretical as one man and one woman is the norm and it should be the norm again in my opinion.

          • Definitely sifi G-d's way is always the best way even if in human terms only it may not be the funnest. It gets complicated when you involve more than one person in marriage (and again I am talking solely about marriage). The acceptance of gay marriage just leads to a lot of moral quagmires that are best avoided by sticking to G-d's plan.

          • The clearest evidence that monogamy is God’s ideal is from Christ’s teaching on marriage in Matt. 19:3–6. In this passage, He cited the Genesis creation account, in particular Gen. 1:27 and 2:24, saying ‘the two will become one flesh’, not more than two.

            Gen 2; 24, says therefore shall a man leave his parent and cling to his wife and both of them shall be one.
            the bible states it clearly that monogamy is the best. The verse says, man shall cling to his wife not wives.

            Jesus spoke over and over about the man and woman relationship as husband and wife in the Gospels.
            Also 1 Corinthians 7:36 & Romans 7:2 "For the woman which has an husband is bound so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

            12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

          • I am aware that you were kidding of course. I am sorry also for I was kind of all over the place there.

            People have threesomes and orgies (sp?) all the time. We weren't talking about that. We weren't talking about consenting adults choosing to do this for fun or whatever. Also we weren't talking about me personally wondering if this is okay for me to do. Because it is not... gross. I personally have my belief systems set up for the situations describe in your statement and just above. I believe that someone will get hurt always in situations like these but I digress, that is not what I was talking about.

            It stemmed from gay marriage. If there is a man and a woman and a woman (or more and it can be a woman and a man and a man, etc). The man is married to the others involved in the relationship but the women are not married to one another since they aren't the women having sex with one another either only when their husband is there with them or without their husband being there with them is that sinful? Is that bad since they are both married to one singular person, but like I said not married to one another.

            The question is though if they aren't married to one another because they are of the same gender which would be not okay under many cultures, religions, etc, but the are married to one opposite gender person which is okay under many cultures, religions etc, it is also okay for them to have sex together? Or it should just be the man with one woman and then the other woman. The women have no sex with one another nor do they participate in a threesome with the husband. That was essentially the question.

            My opinion is that marrying more than one person is not correct so this situation is all kind of crazy, but let's just say that it is OKAY and PERMISSIBLE for a man to marry two women (or more) and a woman to marry two men (or more) should the same gendered partners engage with each other because they are all married to one person, yet not married to one another. It is kind of complicated. I just state that it is simple to just keep it the way G-d originally designed, because it is simple. It was just a theoretical question.

          • OK Kimmy, first, let me say that I was only kidding, but given the opportunity to be with 2 women at the same time, I would have to say yes, it is mostly every man's fantasy. It doesn't happen to guys like me, but I guess there are some guys that have it happen without having to pay for it.
            It all depends on what you like, if it's OK or not. If you find it unappealing, then it's not OK for you, but other people might find it appealing. Is it right to tell them it's wrong if they are all consenting, and nobody gets hurt? I don't think so. I can't condemn someone for doing something I think would enjoy, but you don't find it appealing, so I wouldn't recommend you try it.
            In the end, it's all a matter of personal choices.
