I always get a chuckle when Icelanders use the word "wilderness" like they do in the article. Did you look at the photos? There isn't a tree anywhere. Or even a bush for that matter. Excuse me, but I don't think the word "wilderness" is the right word. "Wilderness" implies forests and a varied biological environment. What they have in Iceland is a barren landscape covered with volcanic and glacial rubble - beautiful in its own way but not a wilderness that will be damaged by a damn road. They could build a hundred parallel roads one inch apart and damage nothing.
Nah, wilderness implies nothing about trees or variety. When the Bible says "Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness", where do think he went, the Olympic Peninsula?
At least they don't believe in quantitative easing.
Who, the elves? ;-)
Fuck Iceland. They are the geo-political equivalent of a popcorn fart.
They better hope Denmark doesn't roll over in bed at night and squash them.
Greenland's closer, and bigger.
also, maybe you ought to read Red Storm rising.
And in DC, a Democratic Senator has proposed that the Keystone pipeline be canceled because of the possible damage to the Unicorn Fart Industry.
I've read that ethanol is really, really popular in Iceland - and they don't pour it in their gas tanks ---
"A recent survey in Iceland found 62% believe it's possible that elves exist."
That's okay. 62% of Americans seem to think you can create wealth by dividing it.
Iceland? May all those who litigated this enter mighty Valhalla, to drink mead and wage battle at Odin's side forevermore
Hey now, ELVES are people too. In a short, mythological, unicorn sorta way.
So of course they deserve equal (special) rights under the law.
You mean to tell me that they aren't worried about Leprechauns?
