Katy Perry To Play Super Bowl Halftime Show

• it's the Sooooper Bowl halftime show... the same production that brought us Fergie dry humping Slash's leg/guitar. I've usually gone outside to pick up dog poo or some other more entertaining endeavor by halftime anyway because I don't care who is playing, winning or losing. I gave up on pro football looooong ago. And by halftime all the better commercials have played and the guacamole is either all gone or turned brown.

  • This Super Bowl thing, that's football, right?

• Being that Ms. Perry is another vacuum brained liberal mouthpiece, that's one half time show I will not be watching.

  • I will be watching & listening, because I want to see...

    If she really is performing live.

    If she is, can she actually sound decent.

    To see how she politicizes her performance.

    See if she looks good, because honestly, as a guy, I think most guys are only watching to look at her. Not a bad looking woman, & that will play with guys more then her actually performance, if she is performing.

• I like the fact that she knows her music isn't serious and that she's in it to make as much money as she can while she can. I heard her admit this while also saying that she COULD do far less commercial but artistically rewarding work but she realizes the money and fame wouldn't be nearly as great. I like that honesty. I chalk up her liberal views to youthful naïveté and the need to generate the necessary cred in show business circles. She does seem to appreciate free enterprise.

  • She tried going a more traditional route by being a Christian singer, but yes it didn't give her the exposure nor the fame. She switched YHW/Christ for the gods of fame and fortune. It happens a lot. The same with Jessica Simpson and many others (like Miley Cyrus). People who are addicted to attention (and other things) find themselves becoming the person they really want to be once they taste the fame god. It is a sad sad thing.

    However, sure it is good that she is honest about it, but it is not healthy IMO.

    • I don't know if its healthy or not. I simply like the honesty. If she were to try and sell her pop tunes as high art or as her craft like so many pretentious Hollywood types do, then I'd be even more dismissive of her than I am now. I sent my 19 yo son and 12 yo daughter to one of her concerts and they had a great time and according to them none of it was inappropriate for my daughter.

      • I don't personally dislike her. I am actually sorry for her. I actually do hope and pray that she finds her way back to Christ. I have seen a lot of her interviews and I feel that she and I could be friends actually except for the Obama thing. We are not "usual" women and we do have a lot in common, however, I find my anchor in Christ, whereas she feels that her anchor is in fame and fortune. Everyone goes through a phase of rebellion so we will see how long hers last. That is just my personal view on that.
