Kidnapper sues his hostages for $235,000 to cover emotional stress and hospital bills after he was shot by police. This should get the dumb lawsuit of the year award.

It's probably because the posts were removed, it threw off the thread structure.
I posted this as a new post, not a reply and look where it ended up!
He also said he was suing because they promised to pay him if he let them go. Thing is, holding them hostage as he was, any and all contracts the REAL victims made with him would have been under duress, and, therefore, null-and-void. Also, the police rescuing his victims from him is not "letting them go.". What is this country/world coming to when a judge doesn't throw out such a lawsuit for the mere stupidity?
He definitely has Chutzpah Yiddish word, example definition is when someone kills they’re parents then asked the Judge to be lenient because he is an Orphan
As the saying goes, "Stupid is as stupid does".
A couple of us old country boys need to go to Kansas and teach their lawmen how to use a firearm.
Never pull a weapon unless you intend to use it. If you use it, shoot to kill.
I'm in Kansas and I have a brother who is a cop. I also know a few cops, other than my brother. I wouldn't trust those guys with a water pistol, let alone a real pistol.
The rifle range that I belong to hosts several of the local law enforcement
agency's training and you would not believe the way they handle their firearms and how they treat the range.
It never has been "To Protect and Serve", but "To Collect and Un-nerve"
As a former cop, I have to agree with you (unfortunately). I was a firearms instructor and every year we had multiple officers who failed qualifications. Many others just barely passed. I had to work with one officer who literally couldn't hit a human size silhouette target at 5 yards. Every time she'd pull the trigger, she'd push the muzzle down and shoot the ground in front of her. Again, at 5 yards. Seems like the last I saw a study done that the hit rate was less than 25% when an officer fired shots in a deadly force encounter. Gun enthusiasts know that you can't get a better deal on a pistol than a police trade-in; carried a lot, shot very little. It's scary.
That is actually why they say Custer lost, too. Seem to recall that a study showed a large number of shots went *above* the attackers, and a number of unfired rifles were recovered. Seems crazy, but it makes sense. Some of those rifles had a hell of a kick, and without good training and regular target practice, people can pick up bad habits that will get them killed.
Unfortunately, in Ohio, the law states that CHL holders cannot shoot to kill. They can only shoot to stop the threat. If death happens, well, too bad.
Honest Capitan! I was aiming at his legs! Oops.
Yeah, but we're also only dealing with Ohio Law Enforcement. I'm more afraid of a creature popping his head out of my chest like in Aliens.
The gremlin should just be thankful that these volunteer victims didn't have any sense of self-preservation and decide to shoot his greasy ass to death.
Which, if all was right with the world, they would have done. Then he wouldn't need to be concerned with a breech of contract.
The idiot is going to be his own council for this absurd lawsuit, if it makes it that far. But with all the liberal judges legislating from the bench these days, it seems the criminals have way more rights then their victims.
Even criminals caught in the act have a victim/entitlement mentality. I'll never forget a story about a burglar who sued his intended victims after he fell through what he described as a shoddy roof.
We are now a nation of lawyers, not a nation of laws. Also, the cops need to be better shots & take guys like this out.
What's more is he might actually win.
When we get loser pays we will see this kind of shit end overnight.
I'll bet anything that we taxpayers are paying for his team of sleazebags er I mean lawyers.
His victims ought to sue him for any and all money he makes if he wins.
Oh good, I'm glad they removed that anti-semetic garbage.
They do seem to be, since his comment is no longer here.
This is, of course, in response to drb. I have no idea what it's doing way down here.
Walt, you can go back to mediamatters and tell them we didn't take the bait.
Why are you so mad that lifeguard saved your life? He was just trying to help you you fuckin' jerk off. I am an atheist but I would never stop anyone from believing what they want to believe in, its human nature to want to know what happens in the unknowable. But the fact that you hate on "joos" so much tells me you have some MAJOR short falls. I hope you choke on an ICBM you piece of shit.
Mr Ad & Ed, I hope you are watching this guy closely.
Get back to Iran, so you can get your hate on properly, Wally.
Disembowel the waltz!
