LA Times: We don’t publish letters to the editor that deny man-made climate change. “Simply put, this objection to the president’s healthcare law is based on a falsehood, and letters that have an untrue basis (for example, ones that say there’s no sign humans have caused climate change) do not get printed.” Well, if you went bankrupt and ceased publication of this resource-consuming global-warming-worsening rag altogether, you could avoid printing any untrooths that might sneak in when you aren’t looking. Sound like a plan?

Lived in L.A. for a brief period of time....and even that was way too long.
I visited family there a couple of times for a total of 4 weeks.
That was enough for me.
I grew up in the suburbs of L.A. It wasn't too bad then, other than the smog so thick you had to chew every breath. It takes a lot to get me to go back now.
Proving, yet again, that clearly mindless liberals have little use for, and substantial disregard for the truth.

I think the editors at LA Times have mistaken that yellow cloud of toxic shit that hovers over their little slice of paradise for global warming. Nope, it's smog from all those cars you hypocritical mother fuckers drive. Oh and let's make all the airplanes leaving LAX fly an extra 20 minutes above the area to comply with noise abatement regulations. Where does all that jet exhaust go? Hint; it doesn't turn to fairy dust to make that magical weather that you southern Kalistas enjoy.

Well, we DO have quite a carbon footprint, driving the one-ton diesel, pulling his trailer, from the Sacramento area down to Los Angeles and back for a seven hour show. But the money on that one is good. The promoter of Myth Masque likes Vlad so much, he pays me good money to drive down and do the show, then twice that amount to NOT do any other show in Los Angeles. I don't have the heart to tell him I don't WANT to do any more shows in L.A.
Not to mention, I have a REALLY good time doing that show. 21 and over only.

No, be fair, it's a privately-owned forum and they have the right to control what appears, just like this place. I's not a 1stAm. question at all -- just their own lunacy.
When private interests are allowed to monopolize information and to pursue a slanted political agenda then there's a severe problem. Being a private forum they may well enjoy the privilege of selecting what not to print but when their brand of lunacy becomes mainstream because dissenting voices are getting systematically cut out then there's a serious problem.
The problem goes beyond lunacy when that lunacy is allowed to be labeled as fact and no differing views are even permitted. If their stance were so incontrovertible then should they not WELCOME differing views to afford them the presumed child's play of shooting them down? They don't- choosing instead to shut them completely out of public discourse tipping off that they see a real threat by giving space to dissenting views- that the actual science might be real and convincing enough to undermine the campaign of propaganda that supports the current regimes aim to destroy the foundations of this economy... and I say public because when a publication is charged with conveying critical information to the public then it must abrogate some of the privileges afforded to a private forum.
To me that bit is a rather arrogant admission of guilt.
Actually if it were only comments that were shut down, I wouldn't have a problem. Newpapers have been "edting" comments fo a cuple of centuries, My concern is that this editorializing will leach over into actual reporting (yeah, Iknow, no one actually reports any more). Will they refuse to print stories that in any way deviate frm the Climate Change Community proclamations? Of ourse they will. THAT'S what concerns me.
Gotta remember: It's the amendment that guarantees freedom of religion. So the LA Times is willing to see it go down in flames. They're that selfless, you know.

This is a fairly amazing admission. This is a major newspaper admitting that they censor the news on two major issues.
By the way, in the comments section I take the NewsBuster writer to task for getting the Obamacare-exemption-for-Congress issue backward. Yes, they are being treated differently than the rest of us. For some strange reason he took the word of CNN, the Washington Post, and Media Matters.

They aren't the only ones. The Popular Science Magazine site closed down their comments when there were too many anti-"we're all gonna die from AGW" comments. Debate? We don't need no fricken debate.
