This doesn't surprise me in the least. I have a friend that was born without legs and her left arm and hand are deformed.
When she turned 50, Social Insecurity Disability told her that she is no longer disabled and took away her checks! Now she is fighting to get them restored, but has no income in the meantime.
I asked her if they think she suddenly grew legs and her arm and hand regenerated themselves to full function.
It amazes me that those who obviously need the help are denied, but someone that is able to work is declared disabled because they're scared of clown puppets or some other such nonsense.
I thought European health care was supposed to be so much more COMPAAAAASSIONATE than U.S. health care? Aren't the liberals always saying that countries like Sweden and Norway are the greatest countries in the world?
Seriously, this guy would have providers all over him offering a wheelchair, scooter, adapted van, whatever. And even if the guy gets prosthetics a year or so hence, he will still likely have times where he would use the scooter. His kidney problemns are probably killing his energy and stamina. I have walked on crutches before, a number of times and done fine, but a couple years ago I broke some bones in my foot and was initially non weight bearing. I could barely get out of the truck and up to my apartment! I was exhaused trying to manipulate the crutch walking!

As opposed to the idiot bureaucrats' impairments which obviously ARE permanent.
I'm of the opinion that the gov't animal is a different species. So yes, those impairments would be in the DNA, therefore, permanent.
