  • I suspect this was a throw away comment in passing, and he has no intention of converting to anything. He was struck by his emotional reponse to the call to prayer and the beauty of the temple, but he would chafe under the rules of Islam.

    • Right-o... unless he takes up the mantle in name but not in practice once he starts to see what it entails he will back up as soon as possible.

    • Bingo! My first thought was he's just doing it to for all the cute girls, but that's impossible. My second was does he know alcohol is a chop-able offense.

  • The death of his wife affected him greatly. Hence why he seems to be working now more than ever especially in action roles (anger release perhaps?). However yes so his wife unfortunately passed away in a nonsense way that seems so small and petty, however our bodies are frail and things happen to it, it is what it is. That doesn't mean that ouf of a sudden G-d does not exist or that they should do a RADICAL change to another completely opposite religion. If he is studying the absence of G-d and atheism, then how come Islam called to him? Odd. Islam more than anything will push him to behaviors that are meant to please that god, so I have no idea what he is talking about. He is shifting away from G-d, then he switches to Islam?

    I need this boy to stop playing Aslan if other Narnia movies come out. Find someone else... boy gone and lost his damn mind. At least if he said he is a agnostic and wants to take time to search by studying other religions I would have had the respect to say "okay fine go look everyone should do that and good luck." As it stands, changing to a completely opposite religion just because his faith is being tested or the loss of his wife affected him greatly, to me seems desperate and strange and he needs to talk to a psychologist as soon as possible.

    I mean the boy got enamoured with calls to prayers and beautiful and numerous mosques in an Islamic country? Really? The same happens in a monasteries and convents and there are a lot of churches and jewish temples and buddhist temples that are also pretty. I can go to Italy and see ruins of roman pagan temples that are also pretty. I am not one day going to just decided to pray to Zeus, as I enter amoment of testing or whatever. He has no backbone or he simple never learnt how to deal with loss.

  • Architecture is hardly a good reason to convert to another religion, but if he wants beautiful buildings, has he never seen La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona?

  • Liam is getting older, he had a near death experience, and then his wife died in a freak accident. I think he is just searching for some answers, and like many, think that havong a rule book to live by will provide those answers. I personally suggest he pray 5 times a day on his own, and maybe spend some time in some Catholic, or other Christian churches. I suspect he will find the same answers there if he really looks.

    • Everyone should most certainly check out the truth about their beliefs without doing something drastic first indeed. I know about the Son of Hamas guy (forgot his name) who did the exact same thing. He checked out Islam first and realized that it was one messed up religion THEN he checked out Christ and became in love and realized the difference in religion couldn't be greater. Before converting to a religion that is seriously and constantly associated with horrible death and prohibitive behaviors he needs to just calm down and study his religion first and see if he can find the peace that he is looking for there. Changing due to architecture and because they HAVE to pray five times a day to me seems too drastic. I can pray five times a day, I dont have HAVE to but I can. There is nothing in Christianity that prohibits him from doing it or not doing it. In Islam he has no choice. That is one thing about that religion your choices are quite limited.

    • I've had near-death experiences a few times. I've never deviated from being a Christian. If anything they've made me more of a believer.

      • Even with the best "come to Jesus" meetings, conversations, etc. one must be aware of the battles in Heavenly places. consider Daniel praying and the Principalities were in warfare whilst he was praying.

        The very act of prayer evidently has power far beyond mere conversing with the I Am. Or maybe just recognizing and submitting to Him is enough to receive His Grace and Favor. That to me is one of the biggest indications of the Benevolence of the I Am and His Almightiness.
        Allah, that is the god of the muslims, cannot compare, compete, nor overcome my God. I was fortunate in my studies to hear a Spirit moved minister. I am going to see if i can find his sermon now. It's something every true-believer can be edified by. I hope i can find it. bbs.

  • When Neeson was almost killed in a motorcycle accident a few years back he asked his wife, the late Natasha Richardson, why she didn't get him the Sacrament of the Sick, though he is a lapsed Catholic. She said she didn't want him to know how close to death he was. I thought "Taken" and "Unknown" were pretty good action/suspense movies. His new movie "The Grey" looks like it might be good, though it's on my doubtful list now. "Taken 2" is coming out this year also.

    • He is a good actor. This is just my opinion, but he is not able to deal with loss. The problem is that he will deal with a lot of losses in Islam. Instead of reading about atheism he could have taken the time to read up about Islam and its mark on the world first.

    My pitch: It's about a guy who converts to Islam, doesn't like it, but then can't get out of it, so he has to run for his life! Pretty cool idea, huh, Liam?

Another confused man who wants to take up wife beating, murder and all the other fun things the religion...ah strike that, the GANG of Islam does for entertainment. You know if he does this he movie career is shot in the ass since Mooselimbs don't like movies unless they are about goat porn.
