The thing that gets me about the Second Amendment is that it is the only right you have to register and go through background checks first before you can use it.
If the Second Amendment was interpreted as liberally as other Amendments, everyone would have a weapon. You would get Government assistance to buy one if you couldn't afford one.
Also, Why isn't the Fourteenth Amendment (Equal Protection Clause) applied to laws that restrict the Second Amendment?

Liberal journalist Michael Kinsley famously quoted a colleague as saying, “If liberals interpreted the Second Amendment the way they interpret the rest of the Bill of Rights, there would be law professors arguing that gun ownership is mandatory.”
That's the funny thing about liberal interpretations, they are all aimed at an agenda, primarily the one that puts them in total control.
There is nothing funny about liberal/progressive interpretations of our constitution. Hell, their ideals match the 10 Pillars of Communism, not our Bill of Rights.

Just a curious side note about Sandy Hook; with all the wild stories flying around afterwards and as evil and sad as the whole thing was, I'm shocked (seriously) at the number of lawsuits over the whole thing...

No need to worry about keeping that to yourself. More than a few people doubt what happened happened the way it was reported. Although it did happen since my uncle lives there and as a priest did his share of memorial services.
Oh I know that, I meant the total lack, zip zero nada of lawsuits (that I've heard of anyway) since then, that's unheard of. Aurora, Columbine, any and all had lawsuits. Except this one.
There is plenty to question in Sandy Hook. I wish I knew more.

Actually, this is par for the course for Mike Malloy, who I have heard on Sirius/XM over the years. His anger dwarfs anything that you see from Ed Schultz or Bill Maher. This may be actionable because of how he said, what he said, & his only possible out is that he didn't name a specific board member. But Malloy is a angry guy with a mic & he exercises his 1st Amendment right to free speech. The beauty of that is that very few tune in & listen. More people are hearing of him in this news piece then will ever actually listen to his crappy show.
So what Malloy has clearly demonstrated is that if one is beset by the mental disease of liberalism then one should be disqualified from gun ownership- for his/her own protection, of course. The way he shot off at the mouth suggests that he ought to be fitted with a silencer.
