Libyan president: Benghazi attack “preplanned act of terrorism”

Libyan president: Benghazi attack “preplanned act of terrorism.” Number one reason: the date (9/11.) Also suggets perpetrators “knew what they were doing”, unlike most spontaneous mobs. Movie had “nothing to do with this attack.” The culprit? Al Qaeda. (Video at the link is much longer than the YouTube clip below.) We’re in big trouble if the Libyan president is a bigger ally of Freedom of Speech than the “American” one is.

  • Fact of the matter is that "Dear Leader" and the rest of his liberal idiots lied about it, and got caught.

  • Now that all the proof has come out and the journal of the ambassador made public. The Hildabeast and der leader have come close to admitting that it was a planned attack on their watch.

  • Wow. Well, I think we can take some encouragement from the fact that here is one Muslim who at least seems to be one of those legendary "moderates" opposed to terrorism. But of course the problem is, these "moderates" are considered by the terrorists to be as bad as any "infidel" and as equally deserving of RPGs and dynamite vests.

And ya know what? If there was an American Muslim who identified as a Republican, who honestly believed in the Constitution and that all the "jihad" business really WAS an internal spiritual struggle, as the Collaborationist Media tells us is the general rule - yes, gawdam right I'd vote for him before any dam DEMOCRAT who called himself a Mormon or a Catholic or a Baptist or whatever TF.

    • I kind of agree -- with the caveat that this "protest" mob was ginned up -- it didn't form spontaneously from the effects of a video posted months before. (Ever read the 'Groo' comics? "What do you mean, 'slow of mind'?") A mob's like a gasoline fire -- *somebody* had to fire it up, and *somebody* had to point these animals at the embassy, and that somebody chose 9/11/12 to do it.

It was a cynical use of the middle eastern tendency towards mob action -- but when push comes to shove, they were willing to riot. It all goes to show that if people cannot think for themselves -- blindly doing what they are told, and being outraged when they're told to be outraged, they will be used as someone else's tool -- and that someone else may not have the fool's best interests at heart. Sounds like today's Democratic party platform as far as I can tell.

      • GROO THE WANDERER!!!??

I haven't thought about him for years.. You never cease to amaze me sir. I have some of those in a box downstairs.. I used to deliver papers around`83-84 and my route took me dangerously near a comic shop

I remember a scene where he had to do some hard thinking.. sitting there with his chin-in-hand.. its day, then its night, then its day.. still thinking.. LOL

        • All thinking was hard thinking for Groo. Always loved the Benny Hill-style chase scenes.

What was not to love about that comic? Aragones' amazing drawings, a moral at the end of every one, the secret "hidden message", and also a handy definition of the word "mulch".

          Did I err?

I own every single one of them -- however, my kids took over my collection.

    • I'm sorry, but I can't believe you're still sticking to that. No links\video\analysis needed (not that you've offered any in this case), that's your story and you're standing by it? Come on, I respect your intellect, research, debating and documentation skills, but that's pretty lame.

      • i don't understand where the big picture is wrong

the consulate was hit before 9/11. Al Qaeda called for vengeance after the Yemeni strike. The Red Cross was hit before 9/11. Benghazi had been overrun by armed islamist militias.. and some dregs of Qaddafi's regime. The consulate will surely be hit again by any combination of insurgents you can imagine. 9/11 was a prime day for vengeance. Any planning for a strike on that day could easily incorporate use of protest mobs as cover (they represent the rare fortunes of war, here). Tactically, its sound to use a populace as cover in asymmetric warfare.

        What am i missing?

        • Your insisting on a protest for cover is my bitch, didn't happen. Pretty much everything else I'll agree with looking from here. Pretty sad we can't trust any reports when people die.

          • You mean there was no protest there, like there was in Egypt earlier in the day?

You gotta understand, I don't blame the film for the armed assault on the consulate. They were just lucky to have some protestors there as a distraction. I expect they'd have attacked without protestors, because of allegiance to Al Qaeda, and the significance of 9/11

I also think the protests were ginned up by Islamists (mostly in Egyptian media), in the days leading up to 9/11. They used the film clips over and over to do it, and wanted a day of rage on 9/11 itself. Then you could watch it spread to other nations over subsequent hours and days

          • "There was no protest. It was a mob of undersexed, unemployed males between the age of 13-30 who were doing Al’ Qaeda’s dirty work."

            Occupiers.

          • There. Was. No. Protest. In Libya. Not according to a local rent-a-cop tasked with security of the compound, who was shot multiple times. And is lying?

          • I don't know.. I doubt he's lying. Was he talking about the consulate or the safehouse (there were 2 phases to the attacks, right? Consulate first, then evac to safehouse, and that's where ex-NavySeals made their last stand. Definitely NO protestors at the safehouse)

I recall hearing protestors describe the armed militia rolling up in several trucks, stepping out with RPGs and assault rifles. Maybe I heard this like 9/12. I was paying quite a bit of attention to the story on night of 9/11, but it was a mess. Its possible I'm mistaken, or someone was lying there, or just mass confusion (sorry I like Reddit and Reddit is little more then mayhem when stories break)

This is all pretty much the same narrative i had going on 9/11-9/12, here on this site. Early into it, I thought it was Al Qaeda vengeance and said so. Originally it seemed like many news sources thought it was just an angry mob that was armed and angry over the film. I figured there were 2 elements to it, one opportunistically using the other to strike

If I'm wrong about the protest itself, that just means the people of that city aren't quite as crazy as those in Cairo.

          • Again, it was a CF, the alleged protest mirroring Egypt uprising in Benghazi I'm not buying. The assholes who carried it off must be laughing their asses off watching our 'news'.

          • i went back and tried to find some stuff i was reading those nights and remembered another interesting theory: the militias stirred up a mob to protest at the consulate, using the film and news out of Cairo as a trigger. Bring Your own Human Shields! That seems like a plausible alignment of the 2 motivations. A lot of the militias were just armed locals who first organized to keep peace in various neighborhoods, and gradually began to bully the populace (this news had been going on for months before 9/11.. people in Benghazi were getting pissed about it)

          • @ghost Not I, sir.. i don't TD here much... only a few times when some very rare overtly racist shit crops up, which gets policed pretty well on this site

          • Hey Alien, you and I smack each other in the chops all the time and then trade posts about Estes model rockets for crying out loud, sure it wasn't you but wondering who p'd on my parade up there.

Be a pretty boring 'discussion board' if everybody agreed all the time.

          • All right man.. I'm not here to irk anyone intentionally, though I still do with regularity. Everything coming out that first night talked about an armed mob, which I visualized as a protest gone bad and consumed by local extremists. I'll toe the line unless equally extreme evidence comes out otherwise. Maybe I'm just projecting. If I were in charge of that attack, I'd have fired up a good mob for cover myself, especially after seeing what happened in Cairo

          • "the militias stirred up a mob to protest at the consulate, "

There was no protest. It was a mob of undersexed, unemployed males between the age of 13-30 who were doing Al' Qaeda's dirty work. Just because there was a group of them does not mean it was a protest. It was a mob, the media spun it as a protest to a film not one of these people had seen, and more likely than not heard of, because they were protecting their president and their president has severely botched middle-east relations.

          • Look, I still like you, if that means anything, but everybody who was there says there was NO PROTEST. The fact you keep harping on it is what irks me. Maybe I'm quibbling, but still, it was planned and no cover. I keeell you?

  • Wait a second! Is the Libyan president saying Rice, Clinton and Obama lied to the American people? Is he implying the American media was complicit in the lies?

    Yes. Yes, he is.
