Looking at old Global Warming predictions

What’s more fun than looking at old Global Warming predictions? This one is from 2007, predicting summer Arctic sea ice would be gone by 2013. Al Gore cited this study in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech. And that picture above? That’s Arctic sea ice last week… with the earliest re-freeze in recorded history suggesting summer is over.

  • This is all easily explained. You see, for the last 15 years the global climate has been cooling, not only has the Artic ice not disappeared, it is thicker than 15 years. ago. This global cooling is simply a result of global warming. There now send me all your money.

    • The sky is falling, the climate is changing...at this point, what difference does it make, every time a lubrurd opens their mouth, more batshit crazy stuff comes out...Never seen so many experts on everything who couldn't find their own ass with a GPS device, a map and seven assistants....Ban Libturds now!

  • As much as I love the BBC's myriad Earth series, I have a hard time not throwing something at the TV whenever David Attenborough mentions all the devastating effects that Global Warming is have on this species or that one.

    • I saw David Suzuki many, many years ago on PBS telling the audience that Vikings landing in Greenland and having campfires caused the climate there to change.

How do those f*cking people get their scientific degrees and credentials?

      • Any fool can get a degree. It does not denote intelligence. Some of the most idiotic people have degrees and think for that reason they are smarter than others. Great in their own minds.

        • I don't think it is the degree per se. I believe that the never ending need for grant money has polluted scholarly research. The "scientists" are basically forced to align research with pre-determined results in order to keep the money coming to them and their universities.

It seems every nature documentary makes at least a passing reference to global warming. Again, someone or some organization(s) is sponsoring the production of those documentaries. In essence, they are propaganda pieces with nice pictures of cheetahs or coral reefs.

          • That, and the politics played in the ivory towers of academe would scare the bejabbers out of the likes of Harry Reid and have him running away screaming for his life.

  • Can you imagine what they would be saying about the current record lows and the 15-year "pause" in warming if they had managed to sign Kyoto and implement some industry curbs? They'd be taking credit for every .001 degree drop in temperature.

There'd be no shutting them up! "We saved the Earth! We stopped Global Warming! ...Now bow down to our every whim!"

  • Global warming is paramount to the progressive movement. Without this mythical belief, all their green plans and EPA projects would come crashing down in a compost heap.

    • Being right is "cold" comfort when the climate change agenda continues to grind forward despite its so-called science being repeatedly disproven.

  • Oh those weren't predictions, just ask the one who where making statements. I'll call them lies and liars.

    • It's all he's got, but what's sad is how so many people buy into his BS. They don't even want to hear how he lives while prescribing the exact opposite for us. They power of hypocrisy is now the greatest power we have. Gore & other socialists/progressives count on that power. The way to kill socialism/progressivism is to force them to live by the same rules the wish to impose on the people, because we all know that socialism is FOR the people, NOT the socialist.

    • Sort of like "more evidence that Charles Manson is off his rocker." They stop collecting that evidence a long time ago.

  • This is one of the many reasons I love G-d. Is like He gets to have the last word and probably laugh and that would be a nice thing to see G-d laughing at fools. Gaia worship sucks.

  • I picture Al Gore sitting on a bus bench boring the pants off of an older woman and saying in that Gumpish Al Gore voice, "And then I became the vice-president.
