• While beheadings are brutal, at least the Christians have realized there is a war between them and Islam. Wonder when the U.S. will figure that out?

  • The people have figured it out, it's the executive branch that has it's head buried in the sand, whether it's that way by design or ignorance, doesn't matter.

    • I wouldn't say their head is buried in the sand, I'm thinking more about needing a glass abdomen so they can see where they are going.

  I don't like this word revenge, was the ISIS scumbag doing something and got whacked? If imprisonment is not possible sure whack him war is war. However if he wasn't at the time doing anything, he should have been confined and later judged. With that said I have no idea what the legal state in Syria looks like.

  This is difficult for me... I believe in self defense and rules of engagement in protection of others (which includes ending the person right there), and how to treat prisoners of war who are captured, but weren't engaged in an act at the time.

  I want to believe he did it out of self defense or protection of troops and/or civilians, not because of true revenge.

  • Sometimes KQ self defense means being proactive. If you know the threat is there and it can come at you at any time, you have to take care of the threat instead of waiting.

    Hesitation can get you killed, anyone who has served in combat knows that. It may not sound right to gentle folks like you but it is a harsh reality in life.

  • Yeah, you probably can't justify this as a Christian. Nevertheless, not being Jesus, and reading about how the guy learned that the scumbag was in ISIS and therefore decided to behead him, I can't help feeling a little bit of warped satisfaction at the justice of it all.

    • That is the thing, decided to behead him. The act itself is not an act of self defense and it doesn't quite jibe with the rules of engagement in warfare. If this man is a Christian, the Holy Spirit will work with him and his relationship with Christ. He won't do that rash act again, if he does conform to the guidance of the Spirit. I do believe there is forgiveness for him if indeed this was not a righteous act on his part (which it seems it wasn't on the surface at least). That is what I pray for him, that he seeks forgiveness after understanding that this act of anger and frustration wasn't appropriate for an Ambassador of Christ.

      Now with all of that said, I really don't give a sh*t that the ISIS member is dead. Dead then, dead later it doesn't matter. My preoccupation is with the soul of the person that did the act, so I pray that he gets right with Christ, but the ISIS member well... whatever one down... a few more hundred of thousands to go.

    • A rabid dog has to be put down. Whether you do so with a bullet or by separating its head from its body, the end result is the same; the world's a safer place.

• Those of us who know understand that the only way to fight fire is with a bigger fire. The Christians in the middle east need to find the radicals then kill them, let God sort them out. The only way to fight evil is to step down to their level, which is sad to say, but sometimes the truth is sad.

  • I have fantasized of bank rolling Christian and Jewish private soldiers to actively engage these ppl in warfare and they being annihilated in the battlefield. It needs to get done.

      • That is great, but there are a few billions of us, not all of us can fight but certainly a few hundreds of thousands of us can and if I had the money, get a few hundred guys/gal together who are itching to kill some freaks in combat, pay them/family some good money as icing on the cake and set them loose.
