Maryland bishop faces manslaughter, DUI charges in hit-and-run

• I certainly hope she gets jail time. I was interested in the statement that they are evaluating if she broke church law. I am not claiming to be an expert in church Canons, but I'm pretty sure what was essentially a murder would not be approved.

  • I would hope not. It's not like she's a Muslim cleric, and the cyclist was gay.

• I think they need to put this asshole in prison. A men's prison, general population.

• Knowing you are a fake phony fraud can make you drink and reckless even while driving. She is why it's never hard to find a parking space in Episcopalian church lots.

  • They wanted a female bishop and to hell with qualifications or ability. It's all about getting gays and females into the hierarchy, not the salvation of souls.

  • The Episcopal Church in this country is a liberal hot mess. Cook is merely a symptom of the chaos and political correctness the hard left Church leaders have created over the past couple of decades.

    I am almost positive the Episcopalians who call the shots will learn nothing from this.

• If a was drunk , ran into and killed a person , left the scene , then returned , I would've been arrested on site . As would've you .

  Can anyone offer an explanation , other than special favor , as to why it took nearly 2 weeks to arrest and bring charges ?

  • The flaimed risk of not being charged with more serious charges. I don't know about Maryland, butbwhen they get somebody hete, the actuall say "additional charges m ay be and."

• Some Leftist wag will no doubt say that since we don't characterize all Episcopalians as drunken killers because of this incident, why should we characterize all Muslims as murdering fanatics because of the Paris massacres?
  Two entirely different circumstances and two entirely different religions, but those differences are too subtle for the Muslim apologists on the Left.

  • I would say the difference is that there isn't a command in the Bible that "It is for the pleasure of God Almighty that thou shouldst drink like a fish and smash thy chariot into the unbelievers! Then thou shouldst flee the scene of the collision!"

    If anyone could find such a remark in the letters of St. Paul, then I would say, "OK, the darned Christians ARE as bad as the Muslims."

• Drunk, texting and left the scene of an accident. In Kalifornia it's maximum eight years for vehicular manslaughter, plus add on time for the DUI and Felony hit and run. The texting will probably be dropped in "the interest of justice"....That sacramental wine must have a high alcohol content....
