Happy Memorial Day: It has been said that if you love your freedom you should thank a vet. This is certainly good advice. But we must remember that not all of those that secured our freedom were able to come back to our thanks. And so today is just one of the many days that we should set aside to remember them.

All gave some, and some gave all. Their is a distinct reason why people who have served tend to be more successful then those who have not. It's called pride, pride in yourself and your country. Sadly I see less and less of it now days. I don't care if you support the cause, but you have damn well better support the troops.

My whole family served in the military, Dad in WWII, brothers in the Army and Navy, Friends served, I was't able to due to my eyesite (Why didn't they invent Lasik surgery 30 years ago?) but I also decided to serve in some capacity. So I went into law enforcement. I know that's not the same but I wanted to give back like my family and friends did. Of all the people i worked with over the decades, Military members were the ones who had the leadership ability, never failed to engage, and always did the right thing. Those who did not serve were the ones who more than likely failed because they did not have life experience. My own son is a Navy vet who is now a paramedic serving his community.
For anyone who served in the military I simply say, "thank You". You are my hero. And God bless those who have passed after serving their country. On this day we honor you for your service.
We have two son's that serve . One , an officer in Afghanistan , the other , special ops in southeast Asia . As a dad , I'm so very proud of them and the men and women beside them . I know not their exact roles , but I'm thankful for what they all do nonetheless .
Everyday , the father in me , holds his breath , hoping to hear from them , and not another , but we all understand the risk . Our concerns are shared by most who have loved ones abroad .
Thank you to all who have served in the past , to those presently serving and to our two sons , for all you do . God bless.

For the brothers and sisters who are on guard and standing tall. Your commitment to the security of this nation is appreciated by those of us who value personal freedom. To the brothers and sisters who now are resting from your commitment, your sacrifice is not forgotten. Your family is among the prayers from those who where fortunate to have completed our tour and returned to private life.
To those who feel that the US Military is not worth it. Just remember, it is those of us who server or severed that allow for your spouting off about how evil the United States is and how much you hate us and those who are wearing the uniform today. So enjoy your Memorial Day Cook outs, your pool parties and what ever else you are doing. While the hero’s of the military are standing watch and ready to defend your stupid ass at a moments notice.
Rest in peace my brothers and sisters. You have earned it. You are missed by many and NOT FORGOTTEN. !!!
