RIP Merle. I wore many a boot bottom out on a dance floor to his songs, chased many a young girl around the dance floor doing it. He will be missed by those of us who remember what country music used to be, pure, simple and straight from the heart.

It's a shame. Although I'm not a real big Country fan, there have been too many musicians dying lately.

I remember when that came out. All us hippies thought it was outrageous...lol (yes I used to be a bad boy).

Lol...I lived in a farm/ranch town and rock music was something only juvenile delinquents listened to. Short hair, boots and Wrangler's, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd and Steppenwolf tapes for the 8-trak player in my old pickup!
