• She sold her vote to the rinos. No worries the phone will ring and the beggin for my vote will happen. That's when I will jar the memory.

• They all must have gotten "the speech" from Bonehead's toadies to not vote against the criminal RINO turd, or get shafted on all the profit making committee appointments. Get on the right committee, and it attracts lobbyist cash like flies on Guano.

      • You're probably right. About every politician has to kiss a little ass on the wrong side of things to get ahead these days, going back to Clinton. If he hadn't moved towards the center some after republicans took over Congress in '94, he might not have been re-elected.

        • @DaveK, "the era of big government is over", in his day it was (he had no choice). And was dragged kicking & screaming to sign welfare reform. And it worked. Until these weasels quietly dismantled the safe-guards. End rant, thanks.

    • I agree but in modern politics, it's all about the $$$. It's hard to get a third party really rolling when all the heavy hitters are already in the pockets of both the left and right.

  Race and gender are quite the trend in politics these days as parties try to sway women and minority voters their way.

  In 2008, the Democrats trotted out an AA guy and a woman, the media latched onto the AA guy. Republicans plopped a woman onto the ticket to try and counteract the AA guy and they have been trying to get more woman, AAs and Hispanics out there ever since.

  Agreed, the BCC isn't really party specific, although it obviously tends to lean left.

  • If I remember right, Col. West did it out of spite because he knew they didn't want him and tried to keep him out. Just opining from memory.

    And for now I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt; hours into it, learning the ropes (see Sidekick's comment about storming the castle walls) and "kill them all, lest one..." & "If you're going to kick a tiger (pitbull) in the ass, you'd better have a plan for the teeth".

    • Yes we shall see. Boehner may not be perfect but he did lead his party to a great and meaningful victory, perhaps she is thinking unity and keep the devil we know accountable instead of dis-union and infighting. Full traitor is a little harsh and I do believe she joined for similar reasons than West. She qualifies as a Black person and in there she can make her arguments that she couldn't make outside.

      • KQ my problem with Boehner is that he's not an oppossition to this administration. He's just a light version of it. Most Americans oppose illegal amnesty. Yet Boehner moved forward with funding all of the government. He's in favor of Barrycare with a RINO tweak or two.

        He's got to go. Not only as speaker but as a congressman. As for leading a big victory. All he did was keep his drunkard mouth shut. That and double his tanning bed appointments.

        I want true leaders. Those who will do what they say. Not the election year types that are now leading tge Republican Party.

      • Ya know, we've all been harping so long on how good and smart these people were going to be -- maybe we MIGHT assume they are smart enough to know what they were doing yesterday. C'mon guys -- it was a nice idea but look at the raw figures: Louis Gohmert, who was the cheerleader for this, got TWO VOTES.

        • That is another argument that at this point in time has no solution. So to me it is not even worth discussing anymore. We all know that something similar for whites wouldn't exist and yes the black caucus shouldn't exist (anymore) as it is no longer necessary if it ever was... so we move on from that conversation that is circular and unnecessary and get to the point at hand: it is filled with liberals and it needs conservative voices perhaps little by little chipping at it and getting rid of it or else to at least have some balance. If anything it is a good effort and it can only be accomplished (even if little by little) by joining the group and discussing with a different point of view.

• Even I was buying her BS on the reviews and stories I read about her, having high hopes she'd do a good job. We're so f****d in this country now. The sad part is that neither party gives a shit about America anymore, just as long as they get theirs (power and $$$).
