Correction. Not the “real” Michael Moore. This is from the person who posted the YouTube video: “Holy cow! I never thought this video would get so many views. I uploaded it as a joke – this is not the real Michael Moore (although if you add some neckfat it would be hard to tell the difference). I meant “A Young Michael Moore” in the sense that a child who is great at basketball is a “Young Michael Jordan”. Nevertheless, I’m glad it stirred some debate in the comment section, it’s a great back and forth between Friedman and the kid, IMO. I thought the metaphor would be obvious, seeing as how the kid is a skinny redhead, while Michael Moore… well, isn’t a skinny redhead. I apologize for the confusion.”

  • Not the real Michael Moore...

    I heard this on The Wilcow Majority on Sirius/XM, & my guess is the following will happen. Michael Moore will go out & shoot hours of film at OWS & it's offshoots. He will then put out a "documentary" about OWS. He will make zillions of dollars, & pay all of these fools NOTHING. Not a damn dime. He will still be rich, he will get richer, & at the expense of these educated fools who are denouncing capitalism.

  • Whoever it was, Friedman had him so confused at the end that he probably didn't know his own name. That's what happens when someone tries to trip up a genius who is several levels above the average mind.

  • What a cry baby! I can remember when I was young and it was so cool to be against the establishment, like this bleeding heart little whimp. Wow, it's soooo nice to be grown up. I know this isn't Michael Moore, but whoever he is, I wonder what he's doing these days. Who knows, he might have converted. Maybe he got whacked with a 2x4 between the eyes and saw the light.

  • There are certainly some reasons to not entirely be on the Friedman train (I'm thinking his work on withholdings . . . although to be fair there was a war for our very civilization going on and he was a young man at the time) but it always amazes me to see that brain in action. Truly beautiful.

    • I think it's humorous that he believes in abortion, therefore not every human life is sacred, yet he is absolutely galled and repulsed that Ford may have chosen money over human life. I guess he only cares after the human is born. I wonder where this kid is now, and what he's doing? Maybe he's one of these dingbats down in the Flea Party now?

  • I wouldn't have avoided the Pinto because it was unsafe, I would've avoided the Pinto because it was ugly and a terrible car. Now that's capitalism - the market demanding better products for better prices.

    • Never had a Pinto, or even rode in one, so as a car, I have no idea what it was like. But I used to work automotive machine shop back then, and the Pinto had a great little 4 banger motor. It was the only one of it's type to have a cast-iron head, which was great for reliability.

      • In '70, my senior year I had 3or4 buddies that had Pinto's and never heard any complaints about them, in fact the motor like you say was known to be a good little motor. In fact thier cars were more reliable than my 61 Volvo 944.

        • In 74 I remember many of the Pintos around my neighborhood started wearing a bumper sticker on the back that said "Hit Here For Big Explosion" and I still think that's funny.

  • FYI: That's NOT Michael Moore. Check the YouTube description, the person who uploaded said he didn't mean it literally.
