Econ Moron Ron Fournier: Middle Class Falls, Wall Street Rises … and Washington Dithers. Fresh out of ideas and excuses econ moron Ron Fournier puts class war-fare back on the menu. As usual he’s blathering about the usual Wall Street verses Main Street nonsense. What this fellow doesn’t know, or won’t admit, is that Wall Street (to a certain, but rather significant extent) is Main Street. Wall Street is where most of our retirements live. They win, we win -sometimes. They lose . . . well good luck trying to live off the social security that won’t exist by the time that we need it. But that doesn’t serve this fellows narrative so he ignores it. Just like he ignores the fact that the real threat to the middle class has come from a over reaching government that prints money out of nowhere to buy votes, pay off cronies (many of them the very Wall Street types Fournier takes such a dim view of) and destroy our savings/earnings with the resultant inflation that they insist does not exist but plagues each and every trip we make to the grocery store.

The minute I saw this thread I knew creepy crowley would be running wild with baseless accusations and general stupidty. I wan't dsappointed, he lived up to my expectations, but now he's added a dash of Joooo hatred to his inane babble.
Hey crowley! You're not getting back any gold so forget about it. You never earned anything in your sad life other than our contempt.
That guy seems to get dumber with every post, doesn't he?
I believe Frank Zappa's song Cozmic Debris pretty much sums up most of these blathering idiots.
Frank Zappa's "I'm the Slime" is another good one. TV has been recognized for a long time for what it really is by a few.
I could only imagine what this site would be like if Zappa was writing comments.
I doubt Zappa would have a positive view of the current bunch of traitors in office, although it was fun to watch him and Dee Snider shred congress at those hearings about lyrics.
Frank did have a gift for summing up the entertainment industry, especially companies like Warner Brothers.
A classic of significant import. "But I've got the crystal ball!" he said, and held it to the light. So I snatched it all away from him and showed him how to do it right...
Those times were probably my favorite. I had no idea how firked up things really were and was one of the enlightened few devout Zappanians in Bay View high school. I was indeed very special to me.
"The price of meat has just gone up and your old lady has just gone down..."
Must be a record, 10 Thumbs down for Creepy Crowley the economics expert in one thread.
Just sharing my knowledge.
Your knowledge, just like your money, is something you have taken from me. The former I have granted you freely, the latter you stole through the force of the corporatists that rely on your greed to legitimize their system.
Israel stole your money too with all the ill-gotten foreign aid and military help Congress has been duped into giving them. It's a lot more by BILLIONS then what I'm getting. Are you aware of that?
Ok, Crowley, now we are getting somewhere. You say Israel stole our money? Would that be the same as, saaaaaaaaaaay, accusing the Jews of controlling the world's financial system & having ALL of the money? I just wanna make sure, you mean those greedy, dirty, Jews?
The Jews MAY be a part of Corporate Greed, yes.
Nice way of waving a swastika Creepy, Do you, like the Arabs, also want to exterminate the evil Jews? Hitler and you would have had a great time together, blaming the Jews and Corporations for your inability to function in the world, Just like little Adolph do you paint houses? Girlfriend is not named Eva is she?
Looking at the exchange between Crowley and Kip, it is clear that our resident sloth has no idea why he can't function. He clearly is misinformed about the basic nature of money and its many forms. All the sloth knows is that he really doesn't need to know anything so long as the proverbial check from the state is in his mailbox. The sloth will never move out of his current situation because he lacks ambition and he lazy. It is as simple as that. The rest of his pathetic ramblings are just flimsy cover for his....wait for it....sloth.
*he is lazy.
You've never earned money. No, being paid by tax dollars as a part time census drone does not count.
I want the value that the money I earned should have had all along back.
Right....that's it, Crowley. You want something back that was never yours. Perfect description of the recipient class of which you are a member.
There's a simple solution that I've been stating all along to fix all this. All Corporate Greed needs to do is give me back my gold.
Now address Gov't Greed. The greed that is actually destroying our nation. It is destroying our money, our culture, & our way of life. How much of one's income should be taken in order to pay for sh!t that the gov't shouldn't even be involved in anyway? It's damn near 50% for most folks, when all taxes & fees are factored in. Shrinking the size of gov't, & it should be about 1/8 of what it is now, would end most of the problems that gov't creates.
Corporate and Government greed are one in the same when Corporations buy Government off. They are both in need of shrinking.
Do the corporation buy off the gov't or does gov't demand that corporations "play ball"? They are together in many ways, but the gov't is the problem, not corporations.
So now that you've admitted to stealing my money, what are you going to do to make sure that I get it back?
When I get the gold that was stolen from me back, the same gold you refuse to accept was stolen from me, as such I can say the same about me not stealing from you.
You can't have something stolen from you if it was never yours to begin with. Unlike the money I used to have that was then stolen to pay your way.
The only reason Wall Street rises is because they are the Corporate Greed who stole our gold.
Still no job and living off the tax slaves John? The corporatist system must be so glad to have you as their excuse to steal our wealth in order to feed your avarice.
All they have to do is give me my gold back.
What gold? You've never had any gold. You have the money you stole from the tax payers.
If Corporate Greed didn't steal the money's intrinsic value causing inflation, leading the need to exploit slave wages overseas, I would have my own job and not need to depend on support programs.
Like I said, all they have to do is give me back my gold.
"If Corporate Greed didn’t steal the money’s intrinsic value causing inflation,"
The money doesn't have intrinsic value. It is money. They can make more of it. Which is in fact inflation. Inflation of the money supply. They theft of the value occurs after the increase of surplus. Not the other way around. Do you know anything at all? I mean other than how to give the corporatists an excuse to inflate the money supply so that you can live off the hard work of all the suckers being forced to pay for your way.
Prior to 1970, it did have intrinsic value because every dollar note represented a set amount of real gold in a vault somewhere.
That isn't intrinsic value. The intrinsic value is in the gold (or silver or whatever the scarce commodity backing it was) if paper money had intrinsic value you wouldn't need to back it with anything.
How much gold did YOU have stolen from YOU?
While I agree about The Fed & the gold standard, I doubt if anything was ever actually taken from you. Not gold anyway.
Every dollar I ever earned and will ever earn has had it's intrinsic value stolen. Stolen value causing inflation that drives mine and everyone's cost of living up.
"Every dollar I ever earned and will ever earn has had it’s intrinsic value stolen."
Dollars don't have intrinsic value. That is why they need to be backed by objects of actual wealth. How is it you don't know that?
Sorry John, skew it anyway you like you used the 1964 number because you did not know any better. Just like you don't know that the actual year we completely went off the gold standard was 1971 and not 1970. Just like you really didn't know what the meaning of the word intrinsic was. Just like you didn't know the difference between gold certificates and federal reserve notes. Just like you really don't know that the reason for fiat currency is to steal wealth from producers and give it to useless usurpers like you.
Nope John. You just don't know the difference between the years 1970 and 1971 or 1964 for that matter (and before you congratulate yourself on explaining anything it was I that explained this to you about a year ago). Just like you didn't know the meaning of the word intrinsic. The difference between gold certificates or federal reserve notes. Or the fact that no gold has ever been stolen from you because you have never earned anything. Much to the contrary it is our wealth that has been stolen. Stolen to pay your way.
I just explained the full story above. 1970 was only ONE year. This heist took 57 years to pull off starting in 1913.
Like I said, just give me my gold back and I won't have to take any tax dollars, not that I take a lot anyway compared to what our corrupt foreign aid and military take to waste on pointless wars fueled by Corporate Greed.
Exactly the problem. They haven't since 1970.
1970 was the final straw when the link between gold and paper notes was broken. My 1964 reference pertains to the removal of silver content from dimes, quarters, and lessening it to 40% in halves until 1970 when it also was removed. It was a gradual process that ended in 1970 (and technically began in 1913 with the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank). Having said that, I technically was right with US dollars having intrinsic value because of the silver content prior to 1964.
Yes, the slow transition from silver/gold certificates to federal reserve notes was also a big factor in Corporate Greed's theft of our gold headed by their flagship Federal Reserve bank, the head of their evil corporate empire disguised as a government agency as to not arose suspician until their plan was done.
"And the argument as I’ve already said is, the value of one otherwise worthless object is controlled by the link to another object of value."
No, you said the dollars had intrinsic value. This is because you are a moron that does not understand the mechanics of the arguments you parrot. Many of which you heard here first. Just like the fact that we were completely broken from the gold standard in 1971 and not in 1964 like you were originally claiming.
" That link was broken, basically denoting theft of that object value. Think of paper notes as “receipts” for the gold you had in the bank vault. After 1970, the banks are now refusing to take your receipts to get your stuff back it has claim to, ie theft."</i"
It seems that in addition to a great many other things you are unfamiliar with the difference between a gold certificate and a federal reserve note. The dollars you stole from us are federal reserve notes. The dollars that the banks have are federal reserve notes. The theft is not in that you cannot exchange a federal reserve note for gold. When these notes were earned or stolen they were not backed in gold. The theft is in that the federal reserve notes had a particular value that was reduced when more of them were created to give to you. That is why there is a need for the gold backing. Because then monetary policy couldn't be used to reward you with our labor while punishing us for your greed.
And the argument as I've already said is, the value of one otherwise worthless object is controlled by the link to another object of value. That link was broken, basically denoting theft of that object value. Think of paper notes as "receipts" for the gold you had in the bank vault. After 1970, the banks are now refusing to take your receipts to get your stuff back it has claim to, ie theft.
"Whatever you want to call it, the amount of physical gold controlled the amount of paper notes giving them value. Corporate Greed stole that value in 1970. You’re just desperately trying to muddle the issue with technicalities."
Actually that is called understanding the argument. Which is something that you clearly do not.
Whatever you want to call it, the amount of physical gold controlled the amount of paper notes giving them value. Corporate Greed stole that value in 1970. You're just desperately trying to muddle the issue with technicalities.
No paper money has never had intrinsic value. Paper money is not scarce. Wow, and I thought you were dumb before.
Feel better now that you got that off your chest?
Meh, not as good as I was hoping.
