My Nephew belngs to the Telecommunications Union. He is the most conservative guy you will ever meet, owns (and uses) guns, is conservative in all his views from food to women to vehicles. But he votes Democratic with the Union, because they are convinced that the Democrats are backing them against the evil Management people. This is an iuntellignet guy! I don't get what they put in the water at the Union hall to get this response!
I don't know how they do it to the intelligent ones. Most of the guys that I've worked with over the years, the ones that were behind the Dems 100%, though they may have been good operators, weren't all that good at rational thought.

Finally a union boss has realized that the Obama administration is hostile to the best interests of trade unions. Many of the rank and file saw that truth a long time ago; my youngest son is a member of the steam fitters union and has been unemployed on and off for the past four years. Yet his union bosses continue to loyally support the Democrats and their "brethern" in the public
employee unions (which is a real issue here in Wisconsin). The rank and file know its all bulls*** but, so far, they have not revolted against the bosses. Not yet.
My union, International Union of Operating Engineers, is still telling the membership to vote Democrat. I haven't listened to them since I voted for Reagan.
What?!? The Union's bestest friend stabbed them in the back? No worries, they will keep supporting and donating, banking on his "flexibillity" after his re-election.
