Newsflash from MSNBC’s effete English anchor Martin Bashir: “There is no class warfare because the battle is over and the middle classes have lost. And that’s why asking Mr. Buffett to pay the same amount of tax as his secretary is not class warfare, it’s actually the faint echo of a constitution that was intended to prevent the kind of social divisions that are all too apparent today.” Sigh. We wish liberals would make up their minds. Don’t libs tell us that the Founding Fathers were wealthy, slaveholding white men who wanted to oppress everyone else? Yet now we’re supposed to believe they wanted to abolish social divisions? Which one is it, libs. Which one is it?

His theory that the middle class has lost the war may not be that far off. That said, he has no business lecturing us, since the class warfare in England is beyond belief.
And we have a winner! It's like that everywhere in the world, 'cept here of course. Anyone who would argue against that has either never been out of their own state, much less the country or been abroad and traveled in such luxury that they did not see the "other class."

I'm sure that Bashir also thinks that the Founding Fathers would approve of all the ways that our massive federal government SPENDS money. Every single program, every single "worker" is absolutely necessary, none can be cut.
I'll agree with Bashir in that the Founders would have wanted equality. So if there must be an income tax (which I'm not suggesting that there must be) there should be only one rate. As far as social divisions I see two . . . tax eaters and tax payers, and anyone that is the former became so without any encouragement from me, so why should I have to suffer for them through the inflation brought about by the creation of currency to cover their upkeep or the higher prices at the store brought about by the increase in corporate income taxes brought about in their name?
As for Buffet . . . he's free to pay as much in taxes as he wants. Unfortunately the only way to keep that douchebag from "cheating" on his taxes would be a flat system sans loopholes or the fairtax. Notice he isn't in favor of either of them. This man is nothing without a system to game.
