And this gem: “Governor Michael Dukakis’ signature was on his welfare card. Dukakis’ last gubernatorial term ended in January of 1991. I was born in June of 1991. The man had been on welfare my entire life.” And probably Dukakis’s entire life as well.

Really! Olivia scolded us before telling us how Bill (Spongebill Nopants) Clinton reformed welfare so that you can't collect for more than 5 years! How was this guy collecting for 20? He was on welfare before Clinton was in office!!

That's nothing. About a month ago someone asked if we took LINK cards (Illinois' version of food stamps). I work as a bartender. This guy was drinking Grey Goose martinis and shots of Patron ($11 and $8 respectively). My blood was boiling.Obviously you can't buy alcohol with these cards, but the fact that this asshat even was ordering these drinks while on food stamps and not shy about it just stunned me. If we're looking to cut spending.... I know it's a small amount of money in the grand scheme of things,but if we don't watch our pennies, the dollars won't take care of themselves (to paraphrase Edith Bunker).

It's the same here. Generations that have been on welfare or working 6 months and going on unemployment for 6 months.
