It was originally set up that our government was to be afraid of the people but the dumbing down of America, (and other usurpations), have started a dangerous reversal of trends.
The greatest threat to the Republic is/was the abdication of power by Congress and the Executive filling that void. You are so right about what Congress has done since the Wilson administration.
If I were here I would be more worried about:
1-Botox collapse
2-American voters
