So... Sunday I lost my computer to malware or a virus of some sort. It's at the repair center but I couldn't wait so I purchased this mammoth-screened Windows 8 monstrosity I'm typing into right now.
Bear with me: this is relevant I swear.
In the last few weeks my computer has been warning me of Trojans and horrible malware every time I visit a Breitbart link. SO here I am, brand new Windows 8 computer, kind of helpless 'cause I'm still still restoring my files from Carbonite (this is a process that takes days, by they way... something they don't tell you when you're signing up), just screwing around learning to use it, popping into my favorite haunts like IHTM, and I click on the Breitbart link above and Windows goes apeshit warning me about viruses and malware IMMEDIATELY. What's more, I see the word "trojan" in the warnings.
Summary: I don't know if Breitbart is the source of whatever infected my poor ailing laptop, but I'm mighty suspicious. What the hell is going on over there? First they destroyed all their backlinks almost immediately after Breitbart died, now they seem to have an infected website. WTF?
It seems to me Breitbart had a similar problem not that long ago, maybe January sometime.
I go there frequently, no problems. What program is warning you? I've had several instances of malware on my wife's computer and some of them at work where you get messages you have malware, viruses, etc., and you actually don't. They usually will try and get to to DL some magic program that will get rid of it for some astronomical sum. They're a booger to get rid of as they control the antivirus program on your computer and can even stop online scans from various places like McAfee, Kapersky, Etc.
You may have backed the virus/malware on to Carbonite. We have a local backup and I scanned that and it had stuff on it I removed before we went any further.
Another thing is disable Java. You don't need it most places and even Apple won't let you put it on a computer because it's easily hacked to install stuff you don't want.
You may want to get a backup drive and put your backup from Carbonite on to that and scan it before you put it on the new PC.
I even found one on the wife's computer that was part of a botnet and was busy pinging various websites they were attacking. That was a booger to get rid of, too.
Listen to this: I uninstalled the McAfee anti-virus software that came with the computer, installed the software I purchased instead, and now I can go to Breitbart no problem. I don't get it. Does McAfee have a problem with Breitbart?
McAfee sucks. I always remove the AV software I get with a computer and install Avast and Spybot.
I use Kapersky. i don't know what they did to McAfee over the years but at the least it seems to slow down any computer I've had it on lately.
I ended up using Webroot because the nerds at Best Buy seemed to prefer it. They said it has the smallest footprint/least effect on a computer's performance. My dead laptop was using AVG, so I'm a bit soured on that one. I would ask for my money back but since I was using the free version...

What I want to know is where is the ACLU in all this? My understanding is that they're supposed to be nonpartisan--so why aren't they demanding American citizen prisoners be released along with illegals. Guess they're full of sh** too.
Some reporter somewhere is either gonna get a nasty-gram from the dictator's folks, or they will simply disappear never to be heard from again. Seems Mr. Napolitano didn't get the memo about how transparent this administration is....

Exactly! You know, I have been asking this question for YEARS, since before I was really watching politics, and got my info from the news...
When there are cuts in the budget, why do they always go after schools, roads, emergency services and so on? THOSE are the services that "most" people use, and the things that are appropriate for the government to have a collectivist system for.
Why don't they cut the stupid programs that possibly benefit a few people (usually only the ones who are getting the checks).
On a local level for instance - a few years ago, the budget in my town had to cut the renovation of the oldest school in our town. OK - fair enough, even though I am sure there is asbestos and lead paint in there, no air conditioning, etc. and the NEW schools in our town are all-the-bells-and-whistles - olympic pool, observatory, and so on. But no matter, there was not enough money.
EXCEPT! That same year, the school system built a beautiful, state-of-the-art administration building. Some of our vocal politic-watchers call it the Taj Mahal. Millions of dollars.
So, the poor kids (and yes - it is a high proportion of poor kids at that school) live with a crumbling old school, while the fat-butted administrators sit in their cushy comfort.
Where should that money have gone? Hey! Here's an idea! Build the kids a beautiful new school, and let the lazy unionized administrators (was that redundant?) use the old school as their offices! I should be on the county council or something.
Anyway, most people don't object for paying taxes for schools. I certainly didn't, even though my kid went to private school, so I effectively paid for her education twice. But I absolutely object to spending a ton of money while the children are getting no benefit. Grrrrr.
Well if she hadn't issued the damn order to release them, there wouldn't have been anything to report. She and she alone cooked up this scheme. When you are in charge, you are the one making the calls. This has been in the works for the get go. There's no damn cut. When you have 100 then you get 107. That's not a cut. Because you wanted 110 and only got 107, live with it. Stop all the crying wolf and the sky is falling.

Was this really carried that much by the media, other than perhaps on Fox Special Report? It should have been a leading story, but I can't picture Brian Williams and his ilk saying anything dramatic about this. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they did have a 10 second passing comment and of course it would have been linked to sequestration in an ultra tragic sense.
Oh, and is this not an impeachable offense? I mean, by what authority is this done? It's nothing more than a forced manifestation of BHO's dramatic warnings about the perceived effects of sequestration. This administration is acting like a child throwing a temper tantrum.
