Fact is until Obama is gone, we do not have any real leadership, We have "present" by executive order, A lot of temper tantrums, and whining. He thinks taxes and more taxes will solve this. I can't think of one economy that taxed it self to prosperity can you John? Perhaps you missed the socialist meltdown in Europe where now even Germany is having problems selling bonds for long term debt. And they WERE the strongest economy in Europe. Simple (and I mean third grade math) says you do not spend more than you have. The Stimulus did nothing but load us with debt, unemployment is still high (higher than what the commerce department lies state) and no one is going to take a chance to risk their whole lifes work while you have a confused, in-experienced, problem child in the white house.
Like it or not the guy at the top takes the heat when the shit hits the fan. And right now the fan is stopped due to the poo load. His super committee was a freakin bust, he knew that going in. Its all a show because drama is what Obama is all about. He has nothing in common with a businessman, doesn't understand anything about business except they make money and he wants as much as he can get to redistribute. He wants us to be slaves to oil imports, he even stated that he was going to force energy prices up. So what real leadership has he shown?
You mentioned in another thread that he showed leadership by bombing Libya and getting that wacko that ran the country killed? That wasn't even our business. These stone age morons have been killing each other since the beginning of time. The only thing it did was put racial Muslim's in charge of another country and send oil prices up and he spent how many billions bombing them? Billions we don't have. I am not a fan of the wars in Irag and Afghanistan either. Let them collapse and kill each other, when they are killing each other they don't have time to load their shorts with bombs and fly to America. Obama bitched and moaned about the wars, and yet he continues them. bring the troops home, lets the Camel chips fall where they may.
If we stopped foreign aid, stopped paying the United nations extortion money, and stopped funding crappy companies that go tits up on our dime, we might get somewhere. But with Obama its the same old liberal B.S. raise taxes, spend our way to prosperity. The man and his advisers known zip about economics, hell most of them either cheat or don't pay taxes. That's not good leadership. And after all this you want to berate a businessman for not hiring. The guy took a stand and he damn well took the right stand. A lot more ought to take the same stand, everyone except G.E. and the 14 billion in profits they paid NO tax on last year. and it just so happens that little Jeffery is Obama's buddy..hmmmmm smell corruption yet? You will probably be surprised but I agree with a lot of what you just said. I consider myself a libertarian. I am having difficulty finding anyone I like in this upcoming election but I have some interest in Ron Paul.
Well, if Ron Paul wouldn't have imploded over Israeli policy, he may have been viable.
Presidential candidates aside, at this point, I'd prefer to do the fighting at the Congress level -- keep flushing the toilet bowl we call Congress until we get legislators that, when they swear to uphold and defend the Constitution, actually do so.
All presidents we have had in recent memory have acted as if they were totally out of control -- and no matter who we pick, the entire administrative state needs to get whacked down to size -- a reduction in power that no current president or presidential candidate would want. Sadly, the days when a president like Thomas Jefferson would say that as much as he wanted to do something, it simply isn't in the Constitution are long gone.
It was very telling at the beginning of this Congress, that the libs were mocking the daily reading of the Constitution -- if you don't know what the hell's in it, you cannot uphold and/or defend it. Talk about an empty oath. Like the lawyers they all are, they know that if there's proof that they know it, they can be held accountable. Much safer for the scum to mischaracterize the readers as loonies.

I really think that the businessman here is on the right track. He at least is honest about his hiring plans. I would not hire until the moron is out of office, either, and I'd make it perfectly clear that people need not apply until the disaster is over. Let the crony capitalist GE do the hiring until then -- they seem to have Barry's weiner (erm, ear), and ought to be able to avoid the legislative pummeling that any non-connected business would get.
You really ought to click over to cnbc.com and read about what is happening in Europe. Then wonder if that isn't a glimpse into our own future. Why? Because what got them into the situation that they now find themselves in is now being implemented here (and has been). The Europeans that I know think we are crazy to be following in their socialist programs. They are unsustainable and destroy the middle class by destroying the tax base. Or you can continue to read and follow what comes from the administration and think that all of our troubles began in 2008 and that the current president just needs more executive powers to solve our problems.
"Many countries?" Name them, and as you do, reflect on how many are better than the U.S., and explain to the audience just why they are better. Then go dust off your passport and pick one ... ANY one.

Most small businesses are developing the same attitude due to the extra burdens placed upon them by Obamacare and mounds of extra regulations being enforced by the alphabet soup of government agencies by presidential decree. Don't believe me? Try asking some small business owners.

Our business has had this policy for a year now... Many other firms we deal with have the same unspoken plan. God only knows how many jobs will be filled the day after the slug is voted out of office. My broker's advice is to buy adult beverage stocks in October, 2012. The reason is there will be toasts, parties, and celebrations that go on for days when the affirmative action experiment comes to an end. Goodbye fool, we won't miss you or the Moocher either!
