New Jersey Supreme Court says judge can’t be stand-up comedian, too. The legal establishment thought the second job might “confuse the public and reflect badly on the judiciary.” Isn’t that cute? They think their reflection is good enough to worry about wrecking.

NJ, NY, same difference. The judges say this guy can't be a comedian because people are too stupid to tell his act from his job, they suspend the other guy for calling a criminal immigrant an "illegal", and then we have this judge saying;
"NEW YORK – A high school teacher who was fired earlier this year for showing up for jury duty with 20 glassine envelopes of heroin stashed in a pack of cigarettes could get his job back."
"A judge found that Damian Esteban's firing was "unduly harsh"...

With a student to teacher ratio of 17:1 in NY the heroin was probably for educational purposes anyway.... taxpayer funded to boot.

With the state of the judiciary today, these judges are incorrect to think ANYTHING might reflect badly on their profession. From the bottom you can only go up.

Hardly- they do take themselves a bit too seriously though. I think most with a brain and a funny bone get the accidental humor that is judicial liberal activism particularly when they attempt to label it "justice".
So true indeed Not so silent. I always look to see which court and who the presiding judge is going to be when I have to go. There are some you would just as soon not be in their court room or you need a shower once you are finished testifying to wash all the sleaze off. We have one here who is gay and brings their sexual orientation into every thing. Lord help you if you arrest a member of the gay community then have to go to trail in their court. Its the third degree on why, how come and what was the medicating factors. Being intoxicated, partial naked and in the middle of a very busy highway was the answer.
Yea the older I get the less bullshit I can stand in court...And judges now feel they must go out of their way to push their agenda....Or give you their opinion.....They are supposed to rule on points of law, not give life advice, or give a life lecture to some mope who is just gonna go back out and reoffend anyway.....Little tin gods in a blackrobe...However we do have one traffic court judge that is married to a cop...Shs is now my favorite hang 'em high judge..I love it when she says, "Your Guilty, can you pay the 500 dollar fine right now? And if not how soon?.......Or would you like a few days in jail to think about it?.....:)

No we have 4 and some times 5 unfunny jokers. Ginsburg, Stevens, Sotomayor, Kagan. Then you can always count on either Kennedy or Roberts to be the last member of the court version of the Globe Trotters.
