New study shows casual pot use connected to brain abnormalities

• The brain abnormalities may themselves lead the individual to pot use- I saw nothing in the piece that the test participants were subjected to any base line establishing normal NAC and amygdala prior to using marijuana. Perhaps when one is faced with an uphill battle with self motivation, task management, and emotional stability, marijuana's effects might furnish a sort of quick fix drawing those dealing with challenges associated with preexisting brain abnormalities to pot use.

  I have little doubt that there's some correlation but I question whether there's actual causation.... whether it's safe to implicate marijuana as the culprit. I'm not necessarily advocating for legalization.. I think weed does adversely affect emotions, reasoning, and motivation but I question the rush to draw conclusions so quickly.

  Frankly the new study only suggests a connection and would lead us to assume that pot use is a cause- which it very well may be... but without what seems to be a clear agenda to enlist support for a renewed war on drugs, what is shown ij the article can be explained in more than just one way.

• I've known some casual pot smokers, they're not even close to being as bad as Quagmire, some of the crack cocaine smokers on the other hand exhibit all of his traits.

• While I haven’t done studies about the use of pot I am convinced that being a liberal is more injurious to ones’ mental capacity.
