Number of police officers in U.S. reaches 25-year low, fed report. Frankly, we’re amazed more haven’t retired or changed careers.
There were roughly 214 police officers per 100,000 Americans in 2019, according to the latest figures from the Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of Public Employment and Payroll.
The number represents a 1.5 percent decline from 2018 and a 9 percent decrease from 2007, when police numbers last peaked, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Everyone I know at my old agency that is retirement ge is getting out, and the new guys are poor quality and not many make it through their probationary period..it's gonna get worse.
Well, to be honest, your old agency is in Kalifornia, and they are probably tired of slipping on shit on the sidewalks.

Like that Somali officer who shot the Australian girl in Minneapolis, poor material to begin with and had to be graduated in spite of his failures in training because the mayor was desperate to show the Somali community they had a Somali officer. And that's the kind of police we get when we accentuate diversity over competence: a guy who shoots across the front seat of a car in front of his partner's face and kills the girl who called the police in the first place.
